Sony LCD KDL 32S3000 standby blinks twice

    Hi

We have this Sony KDL 32S3000 that came into the shop for repairs. It will come up and actually back lights will come on and then shuts down immediately with error code of 2 blinks.

Error code indicates 12 volt regulation failure. Several suspicious caps were replaced. They were mostly 10 volts and 25 volt caps that were near heat sinks that looked like they were expanding or doming. The values of these caps were still good but one did change in significant value when freezed. These replacements did not do any good other than allow for the tv to stay on a little bit longer.

I have not been able to get a service manual. I did check some voltages from the power supply board. I measured the 13 volt unregulated supply off of the power supply board and it does come up when the set is turned on and goes up to 15.6 volts and then the set shuts down.

In reading online, there is information about a Sony diagnostic procedure that will troubleshoot the fault. Does anyone happen to have either the manual and or the troubleshooting diagnostic procedure??

Also any other ideas on this set would be greatly appreciated..

Thank you all for your time in reading and any suggestions on how to improve my post..

    Service manual.

If you have additional questions about the set, pictures would be a help.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

      Thank you for your reply.

I do not have access to a camera at the moment.. Am working on trying to get one.

The schematic is not anywhere close to this unit...

The inverter is on the left side (looking from the opened back), the power supply is next to it.

The number on the power supply board is APS 229 G1H.

The new schematic did say that the 2 blink code means that the balancer is not working... What is the balancer in this set??

      Thank you for your time

2 blinks is a GH1 board. Remote but possible BU1 board.

          Thank you for your reply...

Is the issue on the GH1 or power board a component failure or cap failure??

LG 49UB850V not switching on / standby LED off / LD701 blinks 5x
            by Seb932
            Hi,

i'would like to fix my not working LG 49UB850V tv.

            Symptoms:
-AC plugged in, Standby LED not working
-Switching on, Standby LED blinks 3x. LD2300 on mainbord lights up and after ~30s LD701 on PWS board starts to blink 5x repetetive

            Checked already:
-Powersupply Output in Standby => 3.5V ok
-Switching On => PWR_On on P201 goes high and 3.5/12/24V are present on P201

Any suggestions what to check next?

            Thanks in advance!

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
            by AK_777
            Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

Sony HCD BX7700dbi CMT flashing standby
            by rabbituk
I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...

Samsung UE75TU7020k No picture, Standby blinks 2 times
            by brithepi2k
My Samsung UE75TU7020k lights up fine when one of the ribbon cables are disconnected from the main board, lights stay on but not getting half a picture, I do the same with the other ribbon and put the other one in and lights stay on but not getting half a picture. The standby light flashes 2 times then reboots then it then tries to come back on again and just keeps looping until I take either one of the ribbon tables out (doesn’t matter which one I take out it stays lit when either one is out). I’ve tested the backlights but all working with none shorting out, I’ve replaced the main board...

Sony KD-60X690E 6 Blinks, no image
            by x_orange90_x
I just got this today and it has the infamous 6 blink code. I've read it's quite possibly bad backlights, and I intend to check them soon. However, I was just curious if the Sony logo should it's shouldn't be appearing briefly between powering on and the light starts flashing. I've read at least one other person had the logo flash quickly, but mine does not show anything at all, not even a flicker. The green light comes on and after about 5 seconds the red light flashes. So I'd expect in this 5 seconds to see the logo. This leads me to believe it could be a power supply issue.

            I...
