Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Hello Hoaca338 / all.
Can you please cook me another bios as the last one (post 79) doesn't work after testing thoroughly?
It powers on with RGB screen test and Dell logo but nothing else, no front-led status other than constantly flashing white. F12, F2 or CTRL+ESC, and power line in doesn't work either, no bios or recovery screen.
Intel i7-1185G7 11th Gen UHD+ 16GB Ram 1TB HD, 2020/12/16 Model Made in Taiwan
NOT a 2in1 just the normal touchscreen one.

Bios Chip XMC QH256BXiQ

Dell PFS Update Extractor v6.0_a16

My old original corrupt bios is attached. Not sure if there's an easy way to determine tiger lake or tiger lake refresh?

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Hello hoaca388,
Thank you for 2 new bios to try, unfortunately, both aren't working after Flash and verify.
1st one, ConLP. Dell Logo Shows, left for 5 mins, key backlight comes on but no LED flash status just solid white.
2nd one, CorLP. No screen or Dell logo. Keyb backlight on. No led status, completely off.
Also tried F2, F12 and CTRL ESC + power in for both of them too with no change.Comment

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Just want to say thanks for everyone's help with my laptop so far including Markus1741, hoaca388 and SMDFlea.
After much trial and error, I finally have a glimmer of hope. So what I did was pretty much try almost all of the relevant bios in this thread out of absolute desperation and found one that worked and booted into the bios recovery screen and has detected all the hardware, I think.
The working BIOS is by Hardware1 posted below for another user. A Big Big Thank You!
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...8&postcount=30
However, the Service Tag, Express Service Code, Manufacture Date, and Ownership Date are wrong as they are obviously for the other user they created it for.
Please can any of you guys including Hardware1 modify the bios they created below:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...8&postcount=30
To include my Service Tag details etc
My original old corrupt bios dump is below if you are able to extract those details including MS license etc:

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Hello Hoaca388
Erased, flashed and verified the last bios. It powered on but I was never prompted to set the new service tag manually. Is there any special way or should it just prompt?
I powered off then pressed F2 on bootup and went into the bios and it still showed the user nivirus2000 service tag and express service code as shown in the attached picture.
However, the manufacture date and ownership date are now set to none so at least we know something has changed whereas in my previous screenshot a few posts back #87 it shows those dates are set for nirvirus200Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
There is no visible service tag in plain text like other dell models, why i don`t know. The only thing in your original bios is the PPID .Don`t know how the service tag is stored it could be encrypted or something.Hello Hoaca388

Anyway,try the attached bios
After flashing your bios: press F2 to enter bios setup, write service tag, save, restart, press alt+F to exit factory mode.

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Good morning SMDFlea,
Not sure if you compiled of hoaca388 bios in post #93 but further feedback is that bios is pretty unstable after further testing..i.e refusing to power on and off randomly and sometimes going into the bios odd random led sequence.
I did try the one you posted as well so seems unstable as well.
This is the completely stable one which hardware1 created here if you could mod that one

Re: Dell XPS 9310 GDA30 LA-J143P bios repair please
Thanks for the bios qayyum786, noticed there are two. Is one based on my service tag and the other to set the tag manually?
Will give them a try and send feedback
Okay, 1st rom called Dell XPS 13 9310.bin powers on with Dell logo, keyboard backlight on, no front status LED and the fan is running fast for about 3 mins then keeps rebooting every 3 or 4 mins, cannot get into f2 or f12. Tried from power off and on state
Trying 2nd now.
2nd rom called CHHM7C3.bin powers on with Dell logo, keyboard backlight on, and front white led, then hangs and won't do anything else. F2 or F12 does nothing.
This is the only ROM that fully boots so far, unfortunately not my service tag.

by zeniusHello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.
Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...-

by mikeybassHi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

by capoplaysHey everyone,
I recently bought a Dell G15 5515 with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 RTX. The BIOS chip on it was dead, and my hardware guy replaced the chip. After that, everything was working fine.
The BIOS is currently at version 1.22.1, and I wanted to update it. I downloaded the latest BIOS version from Dell Support using my ST: FQZMYJ3, but when I tried to run it, it says "unsupported system." I asked my tech guy what he did, and he said he took the chip from another board and flashed it onto mine.
When I check the BIOS using the F12 menu Flash...-

by Akhlz001Hi,
Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...-

by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-
