some flashchips are pre-programmed to 4bit "quad" mode.
a CH341 cant work with those because it uses single-bit mode.
so thats another problem to watch out for.

it sounds like something is pulling too much power - probably a diode or ceramic cap...

try isolating the power circuit from each section and see if the voltages return to normal

double-check none of the new caps are in backwards

do you get the 15v and 30v from the power rectifier circuit?...

pretty sure you need a matching pair of ram.

start by spraying contact cleaner into any slide-switches.
then remove the 0.01uf(10nF) ceramic caps from the diodes and check the for leakage.
i'm looking at the "clock" board on page 7 of the manual...

the chipis probably a 2cell lithium charger or a microcontroller....

check R110 56ohm fuseable resistor to the display heaters,
and check D7,8 & 9 for reverse leakage.
i want to know why the caps are being instantly discharged....

power is interesting,
start by checking the 4 diodes and parallel ceramic caps on the clock board...

use a 78L05 to get the reference,
a voltage divider is dependent on current.
or increase the current by using 10k resistors instead of 100k for R7,8...
