    Please Identify Electronic component

I realize this would be easier with a picture, but I can describe it very accurately.

It is found on a Yamaha Sound Card. It's a black plastic half-cylinder, vertically sliced in half, with three legs mounted to the soundcard via through holes and soldered in place, It's maybe 3/16 inch tall, maybe 1/8th inch in diameter.

Lettering on the flat side of the flat face says F942 or Fy42, followwd by "TM' on the next line, followed by u1133 on a third line, very hard to read.

I actually removed this bit off a Soundblaster card to replace the one on the Yamaha, which had broken off the Yamaha card. Didn't work, but probably the wrong value for this card.

So what is it and what does it do? Thanks all.

Isn't there a marking on the board at the base of the component? Something like TR, IC or Q followed by a number?

Well, the only one that might apply is "U3"

          bigbeark,

Photo of the device with the marking would be helpful if you can. There are many camera that have good macro focus.

          Cheers, Wizard

Agree with Wizard. U=IC. The package you are describing, if I understand it correctly, apply to several components.

Well I searched for a bit and didn't come up with anything. From what you described, the part seems to be something in a TO-92 package. These are commonly small transistors, small voltage regulators, and voltage references. It could be somebody's internal part number, in which case we'll never figure it out. A picture would be very helpful though.

                Hi all

Repairing the RIGHT channel output board .

Replaced the 2 output devices & now working through circuitry .

Discovered D130 ( S202 ) measuring O/C , but suspect there may be something special about it , as same diode on LEFT channel board is measuring 900 one way & 600 the other , on diode setting ....

Help Needed: Yamaha RX-V485 Network Issue After Firmware Update (WN9711 Error)

                Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my Yamaha RX-V485 receiver. During a firmware update, the process failed, and now the USB, Bluetooth, and network functionalities are not working. Occasionally, the receiver displays the error code WN9711.

I came across Yamaha Technical Bulletin No. 0103, which describes a similar issue for models like the RX-V4A, RX-V6A, and RX-A2A. According to the bulletin, the issue can be resolved by shorting soldering points (e.g., J260 for RX-V4A or...

HP 440 G2 no power after short in flat lcd
                by dclass-pro
Hi all guys, I need your help. On a HP 440 G2 - LA-B181P laptop I was changing the speakers and the pc worked fine everything ok.
After closing it all with all the screws I realized that it would no longer turn on. I opened it and found that the flat cable of the LCD was shorted. I ordered a new flat but the motherboard still won't turn on, as soon as I connect the power supply the connector LED always flashes and the power button stays on.
I tried to check the voltages and the 3v and 5v are there, on the battery pin (with no battery connected) I have about 2v.
                I tried to...

Good afternoon, I come to ask your help to identify which is the electronic component that is marked in red. It is found on a notebook motherboard.

                What is the component called?

And if it's normal to overheat?...

                by thesame
Hy guys , i have a DVR board DS-80104 REV 2.2 that was powered wrong, i have some smds on the board that are blown and i can't identify them , maybe if someone has this board somehow and we can identify the smds', i have searched online and i can't find a schematic.
The smds are SOT-23-6 , one of them i think it has the marking ADJF since i found another one on the board with this marking , but the other one it seems that it starts with AG or it looks like. I would really apreciate if someone could help me identify those IC's .
