*sigh*
XP pro is fun until it decides to do something you don't want it to do.
The last time it happened I assumed it was because of some nasty registry corruption and a failing hard drive that eventually took the whole system down.
this time I'm barely a week into a new install and it happened again.
I plugged my DV camcorder into the firewire jack, windows saw it and gave me a camera icon in My computer, the window promptly froze, I switched the camera off as to not manually close My Computer and take Explorer down with it and the next thing I know my icon arrangement goes from this:
...To this:

I can't find out what the hell happened and I hate this layout compared to the old one.
How do I get it back short of a complete reinstall.
*note: I used stock google images as I won't bother to do proper screenshots right now but it gets the point across.
EDIT: yes, I checked my icon view settings and it's currently set to view as tiles. Also, selecting "Show in Groups" just groups them by letters with the floppy drives being grouped "Other" because they start with a number.
