Re: Acer Aspire ES1-132 stuck on ACER logo with loading icon
sorry, but what is ME? i can't access the laptop even with a different hard disk intended for a new Windows installation. i have also attempted to install Windows via bootable flash drive. unfortunately, the laptop is just loading (for eternity). imagine you see the word Acer on the screen and the small white dots going in circles just below it. that is all that is happening, just loading. i can't go anywhere. do you think this is a case of a faulty BIOS?
By the way, i really appreciate your response....

Acer Aspire ES1-132 stuck on ACER logo with loading icon
Hi! Problem with an Acer Aspire ES1-132 that is taking an eternity to load Windows. All you can see is the Acer logo and the loading icon (white dots going in circles). I have tried using a bootable flash drive (Windows installer in GPT). Still the same. I have already performed a BIOS update (versions 1.13 and 1.15) thinking that it has something to do with it. No improvement. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Asus X540UP Turns on automatically but not working
Thanks so much for pointing me where I can start Spider1211!The only choice I think I have is to change the BIOS. The laptop does turn on (power led automatically lights up when plugged) but nothing happens. Will go the the BIOS section just like you said. Will update asap.

Asus X540UP Turns on automatically but not working
Greetings!
I'm trying to fix this Asus X540UP motherboard and I can't locate the problem. Initially, the board went dead. I assumed it could be some caps or mosfets. But then when I checked it under a thermal cam the CPU is warming up around 35 to 40 celcius. The 19v is present at locations specified by the boardview. 3.3, 3.2, 1.2, 5 & 12 is present. Only the GPU is dead cold. The board is divided into 3 sections. The middle section where the CPU and GPU are located show shorted power supplies (mosfets, inductors, big round caps). I reflowed both GPU & CPU thinking that...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
good evening.
i am back to troubleshooting this Asus x540up main board rev 2.0. the board power led lights up, 19v is present, 3.3v, 3.2v, 1.2v, 5v, the cpu core warms up to 38-40 deg celcius, but the GPU is dead cold. i have reflowed both cpu & gpu and noticed improved readings using diode mode in places where it seem to be shorted (inductor vcore & inductor gpu). all system should have been a go but the board wont start. problem with all_system_pwrgd maybe? the voltage is way too low (i think). i need...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Hi! My name is Rene and I am glad to have found this page where you share ideas and resources! I live in the Philippines and a budding SMD repair technician. I am new to laptop repair and I like the challenge, though most of the time frustrating. I am a teacher by profession but fixing things is one of my hobbies, thus, I invested in SMD repair tools and so far have been successful with 3 laptop repair (attempts). I am currently stuck with an Asus X540U that has power but will not turn on. I desperately need your help. Thank...
