    Two HP notebooks parts swap?

I have two HP notebook comps, cheap models, one has touch screen and the other is identical without touch screen. They are both 13 months old.
The touchscreen has a bad connection in it somewhere and is a pain to hold in an operating position. What I want to try is to take the hard drive out of the touch screen one and put it in the non touch screen comp. I didn't care for the touch screen anyhow.
The touchscreen model number is X7T50UA#ABA
The non-touch scr model number X7T78UA#ABA
I know that it's my fault for buying cheap stuff and it won't happen again.
The touchscreen comp has all my programs on it and it would be neat to just do a swap of hard drives.

Thanks for reading this and any comments would be appreciated.

All I need to know is if the swap is compatible - the touch screen part is not wanted. Both comps have identical updated windows 10.

As long as the HDDs are the same type (i.e. 2.5" SATA, which both appear to be) the swap would be physically possible, but you will likely run into issues with the OS license seeing different hardware and requiring re activation (especially since these appear to come from the factory with windows 10 which stores its OS key in the BIOS, unless you swapped it for a different OS) as well as driver issues since it appears one is intel and the other AMD (so completely different chipsets, onboard video, etc.).

Can you swap the HDD yes, will it be "plug and play" likely no.

You will likely have to reinstall the OS on the "new" HDD from the restore disc for the Laptop you're putting it in (or use a "clean" copy of windows and download the drivers from HP's website).

Thanks dmill89 for your reply. I guess I will have to find another path to follow to get my files and programs swapped.
I appreciate the expertise in your reply.

          Hi All,

We've got a HP Envy 12th gen that has been dropped and the LCD panel itself has cracked. The glass is fine just the panel itself is cracked. We ordered a replacement screen assembly using the part number off the HP part surfer website.
Upon installation the touch screen now does not work either in UEFI or win 11. Device manager under the "intel Precise touch and Stylus) menu notes "This device cannot start (code 10) Status_Device_Power_Failure".

I've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps like reinstalling the driver, uninstalling...

original screen was BOE NV156FHM-T07 with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

replaced with what was in my stock, which is IVO R156NWF7 R2 which is also with On-Cell Touch screen I²C

now touch screen works perfectly in UEFI BIOS menu & boot menu. but not working in OS, tried windows & linux too

with original broken screen i can see in device manager touch screen in human interfaces

but with the new screen it's not showing in device manager

is it lenovo blocking it? is it driver missing?

          I²C is a headache

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

microsoft surface pro 5 touch screen not working
          by Gabriel Lucas
Hello everyone, I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the touch doesn't work. According to what the previous owner said, the screen stopped working after an update. The screen has no physical damage, and the touch works for 1 second when it turns on and then stops working. I've tried updating the drivers, formatting, and returning to factory defaults, but nothing worked. Can you help me?

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
          by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
