    Now its just getting annoying

Ok, i have this router in my room. We have At+t uverse, and I have a tv box in my room. It has a ethernet port on the back that has internet going to it. You can just plug your computer into it, and your online. So I hooked up a router to that, through the WAN port, and it worked for a little while. I had both my 360 and my computer hooked up to it. Now, suddenly, it is saying it has no internet going to it, the internet light was flashing on it. It clearly has internet, as I can get online through the router on my computer, but my 360 says theres nothing there.

I tried resetting it, all that. Not a thing. It was a belkin F5D7230-4. I replaced it with a Dynex DX-E401. That will let me get on my computer, and My 360 will get on for a few minutes, but then it will do weird things. Like I can't join certain games. If I am invited to join a game, it won't let me. But if I go to one randomly, it works fine. Then, after a while it says theres no internet. I don't think its the Uverse box, as if I connect my computer or 360 directly to that, it will work fine.

Im wondering if a Switch would work better. I am getting a 8-port cisco switch for free from a local ford dealership that they don't need. Ford apparently sends them random things that they don't usually need.

Im thinking its maybe that the Uverse system dosen't like the routers. Kinda sorta maybe makes sense because the 2wire boxes don't use IP address, somehow it uses MAC addresses only.

Why does my ISP router hate my "homemade" power supply??
          by double_DD
          Hi all,

It's gonna be a long intro, so please buckle in, as it's a problem that's been bugging me for several days now. Thanks in advance.

So, I have 2 modems/routers, whatever the proper nomenclature is, one from ISP and one mine. I want to power them via USB-C rather then their original mains adapters (for reasons, that are hard to explain to sane people). Both routers come with 12V/3A mains adapters.
For this purpose I acquired USB-C charger with 250W and 5 ports, 2 of which can supply max 20V/3A. Since 12V isn't a standard PD voltage option (and to future proof,...

UPNP, "Standards" and hardware that implements it
          by EasyGoing1
I've been writing a program in Java that is really just a robust front end for the use of GitHiub Gists, providing a nice interface for developers to organize, maintain and access code snippets that we tend to need from time to time in our different projects.

One of the features of the program is the ability for people to share their Gists with others who use the program over a LAN or over the Internet. The program just basically serializes a Java class and encrypts it then wraps it into a UDP datastream and sends it over to another user.

So I decided to implement UPNP...

Xiaomi router freezes at boot after re-capping
          by hinisa
I'm using Xiaomi Router 4A gigabit edition as wireless repeater. It worked fine for 2 years or so, but last week, wireless started to disappear.

When I unplug/replug the power, it was working fine for a day/half a day or so until it freezes again.

After testing with different power supply adapters and concluding it wasn't the issue I finally opened the case and this was the situation:

Anyway I proceed to clean up the mess and replace all caps but unfortunately it made the situation worse. Now router can't even boot, either it freezes during...

Synology MR2200ac mesh router, UART connection - login details?
          by spleenharvester
This particular unit powers up, LEDs behave normally, but broadcasts no SSID, will not mesh with any other routers. Plugging in an ethernet cable from a Windows laptop results in "unidentified network" with an autoconfigured IP address and no response to pinging 192.168.1.1.

I was able to log into serial/UART by connecting the 6-pin header to the GPIO on a Raspberry Pi Zero W (GND to GND, TxD to RxD, RxD to TxD, no connection between +3.3V as it is supplied on both sides) using Minicom, command:

          Code:
sudo minicom --baudrate 115200 --device /dev/ttyS0
          ...
