    Wow, that is one hell of a beaten computer. But like the old saying goes, they don't make them like that anymore.

    That said, I'm not surprised it has lasted that long. I have quite a few CRT monitors that are getting close to the 20-year old mark (and one that is 22 years already). All still work fine, though they certainly don't get as much use as the C64 in the above link (though, not using a piece of hardware could be almost equally bad if it has electrolytic capacitors that sit unused on the shelf).

    Anyways, I hope my computers can become like that someday. The only thing that would be different is the keyboard. I like my keyboards clean, so no matter how much I use them, I always try to keep them clean.

      bar towels is your answer.
      they are just the right size for keyboard covers.

        Nah, I just unscrew the top part of the keyboard and give it a power wash with the garden hose outside and a bit of dish soap. For really dirty keyboards, I also use a tootbrush sometimes before giving it a power wash. Makes my keyboards look like brand new again.
