    Logisys PS480D Power Supply information.

I just got one of these along with an Enlight case (not in the case, it was a package deal). I'm only running basic boards with them, so I'm not too worried about overloading.

Anyway - I haven't taken photos, and I don't know where my camera is right now, but here's the information on it.

    10A input (110VAC)
    +3.3v - max 28A
    +5v - max 36A
    +12v - max 16A
    -5V - max .5A
    -12V - max .8A
    +5VSB - max 2A

    max 'combined wattage' -
    +3.3 and +5v = 200W
    +3.3 and +5v and +12V= 330W

    Total power = 330W

    but somehow it also says

    Max Output = 480W.

How they're doing that, I'm not sure.

The Power supply itself is pretty light duty. relatively narrow heat sinks for the mosfets, 470uF, 200V Fuhjyyu caps for the large ones, and the small ones are all BH caps. (Bor Hurng)

However, this looks like a power supply that could be easily recapped, unlike most of them. Unlike most of the power supplies, everything's not glued together in a huge mess, the wires are reasonably separated from the caps, and the caps aren't jammed together at odd angles.

The Max output power probably refers to the fact that it should be able to handle 480W of power without burning out for a short period of time (I don't know, maybe one minute). However its constant power rating is 330W.

Maybe its just a POS and somehow 480W is supposed to be equal to 330W.

Seriously thou, what sort of system are you running these on. I am not sure about the power demand on today's computers, however I am sure some others will know.

ABIT-NF7, Athlon 2400+, and one hard drive, with a CD-rom long enough to install Linux.

It'll probably last a long time

      [edit]

4 or 8 meg PCI Video card.

we had a logisys salesperson bring some over.
they were cheaply made, very light for the claimed ratings, and were full of crapcaps.
iirc the package had some sort of lizard stealing a computer on it.
