I set up a laptop for my uncle last summer. Was debating whether or not to put Flash player on there. But since the laptop had a C2D T9xxx CPU and Intel HD 3000 GPU, I decided to leave it without Flash. With HTML5 in Firefox 41, I could run YouTube 1080p without any lag at all. Didn't notice problems with any other websites either. My uncle is really happy with it so far. Huge upgrade from his Pentium 3 laptop with 384 MB of RAM (imagine that !)
    A couple of important points:

    1) That laptop should be more than enough to run Flash. I'm doing it on my T8100 and GL40 (Albeit in only 720p30 - which is good enough for me)...

    2) In Windows 8+, you can get away with a lot more because IE has built-in H264 acceleration (and its performance in that respect far surpasses that of Chrome and Firefox for older GPUs).

I mean, it's not gone yet, it'll probably be around for a few more years. The transition hsa begun though and that's exciting even if it were 20 years out! So annoy, Such vulns!!!

By small window, do you mean those embedded YouTube videos in other websites or just YouTube in non-full screen mode?
I usually find the reverse to be true - fulls screen takes more CPU, especially on old video cards. My non-HT 2.66 GHz P4 Northwood with GeForce FX5600, for example, struggles with full screen even at 360p, but runs okay on normal screen 360p and sometimes 480p. I do have Flash 11.x on that PC, though, so maybe that's why.

Updating Nvidia 5000 series and 6000 series drivers does magic in full screen youtube. No more tearing in videos after updating.

Thinkpad t480s, completely dead after BIOS flash using CH341A programmer
            by what_1282105
Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....

Request: SPI Flash BIOS Dump (Winbond 25Q128) for Dahua NVR4216-4KS2
            by spmetroil
            Hello,

I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).

I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:
            1. Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
            2. Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: “Chip with the contents are in disagreement.”
            3. Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI
            ...

Canon VIXIA HF S10 A read data from inernal flash memory.
            by abajor
Hello I've had somebody bring in one of these charming little cameras to attempt retrieving data from the internal 32GB flash.
Something is damaged inside the cameras lens assembly I can hear it clunking around and it has probably dislodged the sensor, powering up the camera gives a blank screen and the focus motor sounds like it's having a fit.
The camera will not connect to a computer via USB in this state, I have no options no navigation, just power up and focus/zoom motor noises.

I think my best shot is to figure out a way to read the internal flash memory outside...

4 red flash led 65X950G boot Sony and android logo but then black
            by Ihandyrepair
            HI guys

I got here a Sony 65X950G - I tried to find any repairs guides for this model but not many online

            here is the issue
I have Sony and android logo. but then 4 led red flash lights front of the tv

I have 3.3v ref. 12v reg then T con 12v when I press the power on button
but then I get black screen and 4 red flash light at the front LED
but I get 3 led flash on the LED driver board.

I check that few X900F or C YouTube repairs, seems that if you have 4 led red flash it could be due of LED black light error
            so I tried...
