With a client of ours, it was the fifth time that I had noticed damage to connectors occured since someone was literally forcing a plug into its connector - they have still not learned their lesson yet despite being told that.
This time, it was a front panel USB connector where a barcode scanner was being forced in, which then bent the USB port pins causing the BIOS to shut down the computer after 15 seconds since it detected a short on the 5V line on the USB connector which was damaged.
Other jobs from this particular client included a POS keyboard with a damaged plug since again, it was being forced in along with the same keyboard cable plug being broken off since they were literally yanking the cable out.
