    Landparty Abit Nf7s v2 motherboard

Hi guys; i went to a Flee market and got this brand new mother board, DFI Landparty Abit Nf7s v2 for 10 bucks, the guy even did throw a Cpu 1 think it's a 1.6ghz i don't know for sure i will get the Cpu tomorrow, hope he will honor his word since i already payed for it,and as they say when one pays in advance we will mostly not be well served, any way this is the Board in question, i know this is very old but i hope to do with it better then my Emachines that is very bad!

which of these CPus are the best for it.

    The board supports following CPUs

    - AMD Athlon XP 266/333/400MHz FSB

    - AMD Athlon 200/266MHz FSB

    - AMD Duron 200/266MHz FSB

    E-machines??

you know the psu in them is often a killer right?
open it and check it before you put it on a new board.

hi stj;I know i have too of those Bestecs Atx-250-12E, i don't use those Bestec ps anymore,it killed the 2.7 cpu that was there, i changed it for a An HP ps that is 90 times better.

You say to open it to check the PSU,what should i look for,
to check the 5v and 12 rails?
but what i think these Bestecs PS kills the CPu and mothers board is the poor Filtering circuit!

check for bad caps and replace the 5v standby caps even if they look o.k.
that pretty much goes for any psu.

It's either an Abit NF7 or a DFI Lanparty. Abit and DFI were two completely separate companies.

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

            Thanks_hegge; it's a DFI Landparty 462 socket, my mistake.
