I have a pair of them.....even the precision 470 wont run them. I think there;s 2 board in the world that will run those.....and one of them is some really strange form factor huge ass quad socket supermicro.

Crazier Idea: Anybody know if Tulsa Xeons will run on these?

Since (from what I can tell) the SM X6DA_ series is for DDR2 Netburst applications, and the X7DA_ was for the core based ones (they correspond to intel's workstation chipset releases)... and from what I can tell the tumwater chipset was intel's last netburst dual-xeon chipset.

If that be the case, screw paxville, I'll make the jump to tulsa (TC, didn't you once mention having a set of those kicking around?)

I've used an angle grinder to cut out the IO shield area on a slim Dell Vostro case which I might just build into a HTPC (when I feel like forking out for an SSD and HDD for it).

I could also try paxville CPUs for cheap:

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...sl8ma&_sacat=0

$10 a CPU? I may see if i can works some best offers or something, as I don't want to spend a lot but it would be an awesome test (and nobody has to gut a rig over it). But first I'll wait for the system to come in; for all I know it already has such CPUs installed (unlikely)

    I may not be dead:

    would do it.

But why do that when I can:

The board maxes at 16GB, 8x 2gb modules. Not bad. Buying the RAM, that's too cheap! (and I thought DDR1 ECC was cheap, last i checked the price is about the same right now)

    Epic fail:

I beefed and forgot to note that this uses DDR2 RAM (400Mhz) , not DDR1. The listing was wrong once again (or the model number is wrong and it does use DDR1).

edit- looked, yup, the board is indeed a DDR2 board. This seller couldn't get any of the specs right?

I think I have some ECC DDR2 like it uses sitting but if not (or if what I have isn't much), I f'd up slightly (I hope it's cheap like ECC DDR1 is).

    Doh!

Not v4.1, as this is a whole new system not superior to v3.5. Hence v_._, since it doesn't fit the convention...

V2.5 will maybe be v 2.6, but this is a separate build entirely (both systems will be usable). I may move a HDD but that's at most all that will change.

Mine are installed correctly, there's 8gb (4x 2gb 2-rank DIMM's) in slots 1~4, 5 and 6 are empty. Most the time on a cold powerup, it will beep memory codes at me. If I crack the clamshell open and wiggle them around, it starts normally. I've cleaned the DIMM's and the memory contacts till I'm blue in the face. Memory is good. That drove me nuts to the point I'm replacing the machine.....which is a shame, it performed very well for what it was.

Nah, I meant 3Gb from my stash. Since 2GB PC3200 ECC sticks have gotten pretty cheap in the 4 count ($20 for 8gb IIRC?), 512mb PC2100 ECC sticks are pretty much letter openers for me.

(if only conventional DDR1 was this cheap, grumble grumble)

I talked with brethin, all he wants is something with PCI-X.

Here's what I propose (I'd PM it but I no longer have the power multi-recipient PM's):

-Topcat, all I want is the board, nothing else, to include the coolers and mount brackets, which my X5DAE needs (two cracked, which I had to destroy in order to POST test the board). I'd be willing to buy/trade the bare board (or the full board, which I'd pull said parts from.
-brethin, I'd (if you'd pay shipping or at least half of it or something) send you the X5DAE and you'd combine it with his coolers and brackets (and if necessary I'd toss in 3GB of RAM, 6x 512mb ECC).

This way, I get the board I need, Brethin gets the PCI-X he needs, and topcat... gets some tradebait/$ which he maybe needs?

Sounds like a Radeon 9600 SE I had before returning it shortly after in 2004 on my Asus A7V8X-X. The motherboard BIOS (Award) gave a video card bleep code after it was sitting then turned it on the next day!

"BLEEEEP----BLEEP-BLEEP-BLEEP" was what I got the next day!

It would then straighten out, it seemed that it had to be warmed up, despite the Radeon 9600 SE video card just being bought!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And my Soyo SY-K7VTA-B freaks out about the video card when powered up on a chilly morning. (I think that was in 2002)

Hit the power button for the motherboard to play a recording, like a telco, "THE VGA CARD MIGHT NOT BE INSTALLED PROPERLY".

But after retrying, it boots like nothing happened!

I already have two old ass quadro's, IIRC they're geforce 6800 based (test cards).

No worry, I can always upgrade later. It's not like I'm trying to match the twin 8600's in V3.5 (yeah, good luck).

I've got a pair of GTX460's 1gb.....but it'd take a bit more to talk me out of those... That precison mentioned above has one of the illustrious polymodded 7600GT's....any other PCI-e's I've got are just low-end test bench grade crap....couple old ass quaddro's iirc...

There is one other dumb possibility... Brethin at one point was interested in the X5DAE, if that was just as good for his purposes, he could pretty much have it for the cost of shipping (since honestly, will it ever get used? doubtfully.) PM sent

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
    by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?
    by Dani_2024
Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
    by ygorsan
    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

    🧩 Problem Summary:
    • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
    • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
    • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
    by Asraf Atb
    Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100
    by JSin21
    Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
