Typical Microsoft. (maybe people will learn their lesson about Idiot Exploder now?)

Can't help but see the conspiracy angle in this one :P
Must be a dream come true for advertising execs everywhere (especially in the "kill ie6" camp within microsoft, but probably the "kill xp" camp is just as happy!)

Meanwhile, who suffers...everybody else! (Even those of us who don't use XP ourselves could be at risk if some goober is doing work with our information on an XP box.)

This news seems rather useful for Microsoft to push Windows 8 to be coincidence... then again, I knew this would happen sooner or later, so...

as someone who used to write software, let me tell you something obvious.

a "bug" breaks something or freezes/crashes the software.
to do whats described takes many hundreds of lines of code.
your looking at another backdoor - probably simlar to telnet or ssh that they put in intentionally.
what happens is someone on the outside finds these things, so they call them bugs and change them a bit to re-hide them.

even if you pull the backdoor code it will still be bloated and insecure........ but hey, atleast the people still using XP don't need to worry about any new backdoors
