I'm a newbie trying to learn to repair. Now I'm learning to use schematics and based on the image I have a short on that smd capacitors and I will try to voltage inject so I can find the short. I'll just verify if I will put the positive probe on the one I encircled? Thanks in advanced

remove the jumper pj2202 to isolate that section, then see which side the short is on.
then remove the caps one by one.
it's faster and safer than injection voltage into a low voltage area.

Lenovo Z710 main powerrail is short - how much volt/amps is safe to inject

i guess its the main power rails, as it has widests vias. i tried injecting voltage 1v and 1-5a but nothing is getting hot. resistance to gnd is about 0.002 or something like that(will update later). as its the main powerrail, do i raise the voltage to 19v and then inject 1-5amps? thx

Acer Nitro 5 LA-L181p power LED turns on by 5 secs (Short on PCH rail?)

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.

Well, my decice specs are the following:

Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c

The symptom:

Help me find the short circuit on this WORKING Nvidia GTX1650

Hi all,

Recently picked up this GTX1650 at a local flea market for a low price and wanted to use it on my secondary PC. I first tested the card and saw the fan spin for a split second and then nothing. Immediately I thought of a short circuit. Disassembled and found a shorted SMD capacitor, injected voltage into it (1V/4A) and two Mosfets got hot immediately (QN3103 & QN3107). Desoldered these Mosfets and the card turned back to life.

Bought replacements from Aliexpress and replaced them afterwards. Tried the card but still the saw the fan spin for a split second...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) - 5V, won't turn on - please help me understand why

Hello everyone,

About me, my goal and the equipment I (don't) have:
I am brand new to this forum, and I am eager to learn about repairing laptops. I have an engineer background although I haven't done electronics for a while. I have watched several Youtube videos in the last two months, trying to understand how to diagnose a faulty motherboard. I have a USB-C Amp meter and a classic multi meter. No DC Power Supply to inject voltage, no soldering iron to replace components.

About my issue and my goal:
A friend of mine has a MacBook Air M1 A2337 that does not...

450watt power supply 5v, 3.3v short to ground wire,in output rail ,connectors

hello everyone , working zebronics power suply 450 watts , 5v ,3.3v givin short to ground black wire, also in circuit at output, resistor was charred but shows right values , after removing resistors 39ohms, 51 ohms, there was no short , no continuity beeps with ground , but after replacing new resistors (now i am not switching it on) ,again short still exists . when i put bigger ohm resistor like 100k ohm , no short beeping sound comes , lower ohm resistor gives continuity beeps ,other big ones donest , as its a working psu , i am confused what to remove now or how to go further now .
