Strategies for recovering flash module data, and where to post about it.

Hello I made a post here about an internal flash module I extracted from a Cannon hand held video recorder.

There doesn't really appear to be a section dedicated to data recovery although I'm sure there are plenty of people here with experience doing such things.
Help and suggestions welcome.
