    Maxxarcade; Try another cable. A bad cable can cause such errors...

    And also poor power supply, measure with a DMM at the drive's molex connector when it's running

      Will do, next time I open the server to upgrade the fans. Though I doubt it is the problem; all the hardware in the system is new.

      I think the one that is a symptom of a bad cable, is the "UDMA CRC Error Count", which still shows 0 on this drive. Though I do have some of those errors on one of my main PC drives... Hmmm, another excuse to open it up and upgrade some stuff
