VESA EVC to VGA splitter cable

I found this splitter cable a while back, just got a chance to look at it now, and wondering what it might have been used for. Had a bit of trouble finding out initially what it was, main block that looks like a male DVI connector, split to 2 female VGA connectors.

The main block that looks like a DVI connector is actually a VESA EVC male connector, best concise info here:

    http://www.interfacebus.com/Design_E...or_Pinout.html

Pin 13 on the EVC connector is missing, so maybe removed for keying to some particular graphics card?

Never came across this interface before. Anyone else familiar with it, using it still, on what type of equipment?

    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

No LCD image after connector replacement – lifted components and damaged resistor (Nintendo Switch Lite HDH-CPU-02)
    by Tomylee
    Hi everyone,

Sorry for the person who’s going to read all this !
I'm on a Nintendo Switch Lite, motherboard HDH-CPU-02.

While replacing the left joystick, I had to remove the motherboard to access the connector underneath. When I lifted the LCD connector latch, it broke (the plastic had become brittle over time), so I replaced the entire connector.

During the desoldering of the LCD connector using hot air, three small components located just below the connector (likely 0402 capacitors) came off and remained stuck to the bottom of the...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

    RJ45 Block Diagram / Schematic

RJ45 network connectors are most commonly found at either end of an Ethernet (wired internet) connection. At first glance, they appear similar to the familiar telephone plugs and jacks which connect landlines to walls or switchboards. However, RJ45 connectors are typically slightly larger.

The term RJ45 connector is widely used today to describe both male RJ45 plugs and female RJ45 sockets. The plugs, sometimes called modular connectors, are usually found on the end of Ethernet cables. The sockets or jacks are generally embedded in the device...

    Hello All,

tl;dr: minimal electronics experience and my first repair, lifted 8 pads off the laptop display LED controller board when attempting a connector replacement, options are attempting pad repair or jump wiring.
