    Bios update from hell!!!!11!

I finally manage to revive my prized DECpc 433dxLP system (it is also was built under the model PC473) and immediately I know what I want to use as an os:

    OS/2 2.0

I begin the install and suddenly the install aborts with an error. I scan through the OS/2 docuuments and I see that it is a problem with an older bios.

My phoenix bios is version 1.01.02 and the minimum OS/2 needs is 1.02.05D.

So I begin to search. Compaq has a library of information on the DECpc but no matter where I go and no matter what site I visit I can't find that update!
I know it exists because other owners have mentioned OS/2 2.1 worked fine after a bios update.

Can anyone assist in finding this elusive update?

I already went through there and the closest I can see to my system is the two at the bottom. Even then I am still a whole series off.

Have you tried emailing their support? If you get the right tech, who's not being an asshole, they should be able to email you the firmware you need. A similar thing happened with me and Adaptec over an ancient SCSI controller.

Did you try asking one of the other DEC owners if they still had the BIOS update (and if they could send it to you)?

Last resort would be these guys @ e-Support most likely they've got it... however they charge $29.99USD for their BIOS repository service!

Could you hit the pause/break key during bootup & post the entire BIOS id string here thanks... might help some

Additionally, according to the DECpc LP service manual I found HERE, the DECpc 433dxLP is also referrred to as the PC743-xx

I have the genuine service manual but thanks fr the link.
Holding break at startup gives nothing new.
Not even a Bios ID string.

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
                by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
                by akwky
                Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...

Update bios EFCN58WW to EFCN59WW for solving The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter

                I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15imh05a device that I bought used online. It came with a 20V 8.5A 170W charger.

                The BIOS version is EFCN58WW.

When I turn on the device, it displays the message:
"The Connected AC adapter has a lower wattage than the recommended AC adapter..."

The device rarely charges the battery, and even when it does, it doesn't show that it's charging.

                I've tried

BIOS update wont complete - Dell Latitude 7420
                by Julian Bailey
                Hi all

Anyone come across this issue where a BIOS flash will only part complete?

It will update the system BIOS and Primary EC BIOS fine but fails to update the Intel TBT Retimer, Intel TBT Retimer 2 and ME Firmware.

NVMe m.2 drive isnt detected in the BIOS, but you can get into the BIOS fine and it all works in there as intended.

The drive works fine in another laptop.

Link to a video I made of what its doing here:

Any ideas on how to overcome this?

                Cheers...
