I wish I could say that I did a perfect job, but "close enough" was all I really managed to achieve. I was pretty worried about some of the pins that were bent all the way over to 90 degrees from where they belonged. But none of them broke.

Just curious: are the pins solid gold, or are they an alloy plated with gold?

Well its good to see that I'm not the only one killing boards. This is what happened last to me when my PC took a crap. I for some reason thought I would check out the cpu maybe it melted or something and I had no idea about the socket. I thought they all were all the same. Pulled the lever it cam right off. I didn't know the cpu was attached to the heat sink by the thermal paste. I finally figured it out it was bent all hell and I grabbed my little razor pen kit and spent all night till morning, sliding and straightening every pin. Then I go to install and it won't go in to any holes. I figure I'll take the cover off and try to eyeball them in. Most were in line but wouldn't go. So I broke the cover record time. It is all brittle plastic being heated and cooled. So I'm trying to find a replacement cover which I would have someone would have capitalized on 3d printing a better cover or something. Lol

Lenovo USB 3 Port Broken socket - compatible types?
            by dicky96
            Hi guys
I have a broken USB 3.0 Socket. I've removed the old one

If you look at the pictures on this listing, mine is the type shown as 'old version', but this seller only has 'new version' available to buy and I can't find anyone else selling the old version

            https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...46346716%22%7D

            Are these actually compatible?...

Possible to convert eMMC Socket to a micro SD Card socket?
            by Isabella91
I have seen many posts where the eMMC can be read via a SD card reader, however can the opposite be achieved?

Read/Write a Micro SD Card from an eMMC Socket.

I have a Motherboard with a Kingston BGA153 ball socket, using HS400 bus mode, which is 8bit, as Micro SD is usually 1bit or 4bit mode, I accept that a loss of speed in read/write will occur, but I would sill like to convert.

Theoretically speaking, Im thinking if I hard solder DAT0-3 from eMMC to SD Card Reader, this should force 4-bit mode, or only DAT0 to force 1-bit mode.

            Not to remove...

Acer AN515-57-577G JDIMM1 socket not working.
            by warsztat
Hello, Acer AN515-57-577G JDIMM1 socket does not work. GH51G LA-L181P, 2x DDR4 RAM, both good, both work well in JDIMM2, neither works in JDIMM1. The laptop displays BIOS, when the JDIMM2 socket is occupied, you can run Linux on USB, then everything seems to work ok, there is internet access and you can browse the contents of the 512 GB SSD in Windows, but starting Windows ends with an eternal spinning circle, maybe there are corrupted files. When the RAM is inserted into the JDIMM1 socket, the laptop starts but there is no image and the downloaded current does not change and the output is ~2.25A....

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
            by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
            cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

            CPU socket replacement soldering profile
            by Geomih
Hi All - I am hoping someone can help with some pointers (complete noob here!)

I have recently purchased a Scotle HR460 BGA reball machine (it's a bit old and I think the company no longer exists either), but as far as I can tell it is a competent and unmolested machine that should be good enough for my needs.
My biggest problem is that it came with no profiles, and I must re-create all of them from scratch, something that is very scary for someone that doesn't really know what they are doing.
The simple stuff like a small memory module isn't a big deal because there are
