    An idea has occured!

    It's a Sony VGN-TZ motherboard, with a C2D U7600 onboard.

Tiny little thing as you can tell, the RAM slot takes up quite a bit of it!

Found one being sold near me for £40.

How hard do y'all reckon it'd be for me to mod this thing into my Acer X223HQ to make it an all-in-one?

The monitor sits at the end of my bed and I'm always playing older games on a crappy old Dell X1 on it, so might be a nice upgrade

The HDD is a ZIF drive, I have a spare lying about.

Adapter requires 16v 4a, which may be difficult to pull from the X223HQ's PSU board.

The LVDS cable is dual-link and I imagine it's possible to mod it to the LCD's connector.

For the psu, your monitors one may not work, try a different one. Also, Are the usb and other ports on that board too? It may be possible, but it would have been easier to buy a mini itx or nano itx board.
    I can put text here?!

I'm thinking of just getting the adapter for the same laptop, and wiring it in parallel with the screen's 230v in connector - serves the same function as using a kettle lead duplicator right?

Would be a bit difficult to incorporate but much less risky than fiddling with the monitor's PSU board.

A mini-itx or nano-itx board would be a lot more expensive and probably wouldn't fit these are rediculously small!

It has USB/VGA etc ports on ribbon cables so I could choose which to have.

I imagine the hardest part would be the LVDS cable. Ideally I'd want to remove the LCD's controller board and wire and LVDS cable together for the laptop's inbuilt display. The VGA connection on the X223HQ is poor at best, and I've had it running DVI and looking a lot better before.

EDIT: There's also one going for spares and repairs @ £6, a dead board. I'm wondering how hard it would be to repair such a small board.

EDIT2: Just bought the dead board. Checked the schematics and I have many of the power components available on other dead boards. TPS51120, TPS51124, TPS51116, SI-4835s, the lot.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
        by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

        Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
        by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
        CN6401
        Pin 01 NC
        Pin 02 NC
        Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
        Pin 04 "N/C"
        Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
        Pin 06 "GND": N/C
        Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
        by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
