20 years ago I had the woofers from my Altec Lansing L-100 speaker rebuilt by a company in CA. They were the only people who had the OEM ceramic cone kits from Altec to do the job with. At first they did lack low end but they got better with time. I'd say that they did end up being as good as new. The sweet part of this speaker system were the silky smooth mid-range drivers. Like a fool I traded them off for some Bose things. Today I'm using the Polk Monitor 10B units. These are not so great ether.
