i'm a new member here, and would like to thank all who post and help others,
my acer al1916 monitor stopped working a few days ago and after looking on fleabay for a replacement i decided to have a go at fixing it, a quick search on google brought me here and after reading a few posts and opening up my monitor i quickly discovered i had swollen caps, five capacitors cost less than three pounds at maplin , 20 mins with the soldering iron and its up and running again.
So once again thanks to all

But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
