A noob needs help for Apple Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 - logic board short circuit
    by Guest
    Hello all!

Recently I've got a broken Macbook Air M1 2020 A2337 of eBay with a broken screen and not turning on issue.

After some tinkering I've found C5201 capacitor to be blown. This is where I hit a wall since I am a total noob in this area and have no idea what else to look for. C5201 is on one line with 3 more capacitors which visually seem ok, but beep on continuity mode and also both sides of all capacitors beep when tested with ground from the board. This to me sounds like a short, but I am not able to find what component is before the capacitors to test it....

XGPro TL866II Plus BIOS 1.8v issues - noob assistance
    by kalemaroni
I've finally bought myself a BIOS programmer XGPro TL866II Plus and am going through old donor boards and logging the BIOS's I have in stock and testing out reading and writing but having some issues with reading 1.8v BIOS's. I have bought the 1.8v adapter.

The problem is it's detecting the BIOS's but not reading them. I bought a second 1.8v adapter from a different supplier and this one has a different chip on it as seen in pic but still doesn't work.

I've attached pictures of the chip, the adapter and side views to show that it's straight and down all the way through....

    Help a noob! Wson8 Pogo/Needle Adapters to read/Write
    by Doesronnieevenlift
    Hi all,

I had recently tried to reflash the bios on a dell latittude that has a Wson8 Chip however to no avail.

My question is, Has anyone had much success using the Pogo/Needle adapters to read and write bios without removing the chip from the main board?

I seem to struggling with the solder process wofh my reflow station and currently have 4 machines waiting for a bios mod/reflash.

For context I have just ordered a EZP2019 SPI flash so this is what I would be using alongside the Pogo Adapter.

Apologies if this is the wrong subcategory....

    The CH341A doesn't read anything, but maybe that's because I'm a noob :D
    by Jérémy Vanbaelinghem
    Hello,

I'm desperately trying to get my CH341A to work, but it seems that all my attempts have failed. Despite everything, I want to check that it works, the aim being to read at least one chip and “screenshot” the configuration for me to use as a reference.

Here are the steps (software part):
    - I'm running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0 build 26100)
    - Drivers are installed (no error messages) and there are no problems in the Device Manager.
    - Set the language to English (to avoid the CH341A's basic software bug)
    - Does not work on AsProgrammer...

    Macbook Air A1304 noob question
    by dobrykamil
    Hi

I'm working on a bare 820-2375-A board and I'm still noob if it comes to mac logic boards repair, but slowly getting there.
Board doesn't power up when magsafe is connected, green light on the charger, all G3H and S5 rails are present. I does turns on when I bridge SMC_ONOFF_L pads. Is this normal behaviour for boards from 2008/2009?

    Thanks in advance.
