  • Re: Compaq wassit?

Do you see the yellow SMD switch labeled CMOS I reccomend unplugging the psu from the back power cord and removing the battery then holding the power butten on the case it will act like its going to boot but its unplugged caps are discharging. Once you have done that hold that clear CMOS button down for a few seconds without the CR2032 coin battery installed then release it reinstall the battery plug the PSU back in and see if your board will post properly with the CMOS cleared to factory default

  • Re: Firefox and Broadband users, READ THIS!!

I did the tweaking to firefox and it now loads in less than a second. I have one question though will this cause harm to the servers or cause the I.S.P. providers to hassle me?

I have a Belkin F6D4050 wireless adapter that was given to me it was coverd in solder flux so I took some good old WD-40 o it and blew it off with my air compresser and sure enough it works like new before it wouldn't detect any type of networks or SSID

  • Re: Maxtor death click

If you are in doubt about serials and board #'s check the logic chip big black square looking thing make sure it is branded with the same name lets use VIA for example if the numbers on the chip match the numbers on the replacement board and the size of the disk lets just say data will be back where it belongs in your hands.

  • Re: Your Best Dumpster Finds

The greatest thing I found was in teh trash at the local thrift center dumbster it was a Korea Data Systerms CRT monitor that to my surprize bonged and came to life when I took it home apparently it hated the old owners because they never dusted it out I still am using it since I found it 3 years ago poor thing would have gotten destroyed because that thrift store loves to destroy things so people won't want them
