    Altec Lansing 251

I have a problem with my Altec Lansing 251 5.1 speakers. I get no audio from the right front speaker (The very speaker that controls all the others). Believe me i've tried all the settings including two different sound cards and get the same thing. It's definately a hardware issue. If I unplug them from the power outlet for a while and then plug them back in then sometime the right front comes back to life....but not for very long. But just turning them off for a while doesn't give the same result so it's not a heat issue. Just don't understand how the speaker that controls the others is the one not working. And yes the pins are good.

you have to reflow all the jack connection on the board. It's a common problem with these speakers. also check to see if the twin tower power caps (4700uF) aren't bulging or leaking

Help with replacing Capacitors on Altec Lansing ATP 3
        by yuzupatogik
        Hello,
I have this old (2004?) Altec Lansing ATP3 and i would like to replace the capacitors. I have identified 34 out of the 36 of them as Samxon GR of various capacities and voltages.

I can't find datasheets for the Samxon in any of the following variants:

10000uF 25 v - this one i really want to replace because i suspect it is what causes a dull hum regardless of the volume knob position or if the source is plugged in. I am eyeballing the Rubycon 25PK10000MEFCGC18X35.5 for this purpose. So if i pay a 10x the price part for shipping i might as well go ahead and...

Weekend score: Altec Lansing VS4121 Speakers for $7.59!
        by Th3_uN1Qu3
Was browsing the local classifieds for cheap audio crap last week. Found this system up for sale for ridiculously cheap.

After a few days of not enough time or bad weather i could finally get to pick it up on Saturday. The seller also gave me a bag of "old electronics a neighbor gave me and i do not need", which contained various crap like old TV speakers, what appears to be a monitor power supply, a couple Samsung USB cables with a weird connector at the other end, could be some service interfaces, and a cheapo universal laptop power brick that just had a plastic tab on...

        Altec PC410 Auto PID Tune
        by VaNDAL_UK
        Hi,

Anyone know how to get the Altech PC410 to initiate a P.I.D Tune?

I can see the option, turn it on and it just flashed "tune" but nothing happens. Even tried running a profile after selecting tune.

I remember doing it years ago on another machine but for the life of me I can't work it out this time.

        TIA.
