error code 0x80072f8f 20000 When widows upgrade to 10

when upgrading windows 7 to windows 10 i get this error code (title).then to correct the error i have to enable tls 1.1 and tls 1.2 in registry editor. but there I do not find TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 instead there is SSL2.0
in REGISTER EDITOR on windows 7 ad can one do to correct the problem?

Thanks R_J I have tried the first link and this is where I find that I hag not have TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 on my register except there was SSL2.0 is that normal?

What a coincidence… sorry to hijack the thread, but I got the same error code when I installed Win 7 32bit on an older laptop that I am going to use for Motorola programming. I couldn’t activate my machine and got the same error.

been there on a 64bit machine.
it's not a registry key, you need the actual code.

i used this:
authroot.stl
KB3004394-v2-x64(breaks shit).msu
KB3024777-amd64(fixes break).exe

here you say that you have received the same error code but do you have SSL2.0/Client instead of TLS1.1 and TLS1.2 in your REGISTER EDITOR? and how you solved the problem very grateful if you can elaborate a little more

Can you do a clean install of windows 10, If you have your windows 7 activation code it will activate windows 10. If you have another hard drive, install it, install windows 10 and see if it activates with a digital license.
I have upgraded a few windows 7 to 10 and never saw this error.
There are code finders that will pull the cd code if you don't know it, but if it is an oem install that might not work.

Hi everyone I do not know how to "quote" each one to answer in the same answer then I take the last one that gets R_J: I have solved the problem by doing a recover disk from a windows 10 and made an installation in the active windows 7 that has this problem code by set up in the installation disc and it went really smooth

stj no it had no new update installed i installed SP1 manually since there were several second update that failed to complete

I think I am going to make a separate thread about this error activating Win7 - 32bit. I specifically need the 32 bit version in order to run certain software. So for me I don't want to upgrade that machine at all. Was hard enough to find all the drivers for it, since the laptop actually was shipped as Win8. I did find all the drivers I needed and got stuck activating it online. Anyway... weekend now and finally some sun... better grab a nice cold beer.

64bit o.s. will run 32bit applications

Not always. Specifically not older Motorola software.
