    Help with identifying replacement caps.

    Hi All,
I have a half dozen 6.5” touch screen displays to repair (UT3-63AE/DSS3-A):

I have identified the same failing power board in all units and the caps I believe to be the source of the problem. At this point I could really use some assistance in identifying the mfg. and model of these caps as well as suitable replacements. I would prefer to purchase within the USA if possible.

The failing caps are C15 and C19 as shown on the failing board:

C15, C19, and C26 are all the same caps but so far only C15 and C19 seam to fail.

    Bad cap on one board:

    Bad cap on second board:

Working replacement cap that someone else has already installed:

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post.

Re: Help with identifying replacement caps.

POM_MJ and kc8adu, Thank you for your prompt responses. I apologize for my slow reply but I've had some family health issues that have kept me distracted.

I agree that the two caps with logos appear to be Nichicon but I have not been able to identify the series. I have not been able to identify the mfg or the series of the third cap.

Here is a site I found for identifying caps. It's not all in english but someone else might find it useful: http://capacitor.web.fc2.com/

kc8adu, I wasn't quite sure what you meant by "not solid poly.gp lytics." After searching the Nichicon site and some Googling on "gp lytics" and Nichicon gp" I eventually ended up on a thread back on this site and the light came on. (I know, I'm a little slow but I eventually get there.)

Am I correct in that you were saying they were not solid poly caps but were general purpose electrolytic caps?

Would you be so kind as to make a recommendation on a mfg and series for reliable high quality replacement caps. I'm not concerned with the difference in cost between a general purpose cap and a high quality cap. I've got six of these units to repair now and at least another forty on our mfg tools that I'm sure I will have to repair at some time. I don't want to have to repair this problem again if at all possible.

        Thanks again for the help.

I thought kc8adu mean "those Nichicon are not solid polymer, they're general purpose electrolytics"

I wonder, why those Nichicon has no vent if they're lytics.
