You also need to find out why R18 is damaged.

    The FS3TM-16 is a 3 amp, 800 volt N-ch mosfet

this looks like a superior part

the 3pin part with a Mitsubishi logo looks like a fast diode, not a mosfet

my metre cannot measure capacitance for cap C5

Bridge rectifier (DS1) - show reading as show in attachment, looks ok to me.
Let me know your views ?

Please help me identify DS1 from RS -

    D9 not available
    MOSFET on the heatsink:
    <G to S> shows 0.81(charged up)
<D to S> Drops from a negative value to Zero

Please help me identify this Mosfet from RS-https://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/semiconductors/discrete-semiconductors/mosfets/?searchTerm=mosfet

Re: Help identifying this Cap - 630V, 0.047u

BTW 3.6 readings on 20K scale is not = to 3.6 Ohm, 20k scale cannot show 0.0 Ohms resolution, 3.6 on 20K scale = 3600 Ohms.
Are you reading leakage resistance of C5 off the board? How about CAPACITANCE reading?
How about the checking of the MOSFET on the heatsink that I told you to check?
How much experience do you have on testing component, electronics troubleshooting, and meter readings?

    The (C100) 68u, 400v cap is 3.6 Ohms on a scale of 20k Ohms

and the (C5) 0.047u, 630v cap is reading 17.16 Ohms

    THANKS

At this point OP has more than just blown PTC and caps issue, more likely the MOSFET had shorted out and also blown resistors.

    1) Cap C5 - 630v, 0.047u. So what is wrong with the cap? <<Has a bulge in it>>
    2) R5 is blown so something may be shorted out causing the resistor to blow.<<the machine failed to work, Not sure why this box is blown>>
    3) Why is the fuse removed? <<<fuse removed while taking pictures>>>
    4) You still do not tell us what is the board not doing.<<<This is part of a power supply controller unit for a plactic welding /sealing operation, (it supplies instant heat for this operation)>>>
    5) Why do you say that NTC 10D-9 is bad? <<<only changing because its cracked open as shown in attachment, im guessing it still works >>>

    1) Cap C5 - 630v, 0.047u. So what is wrong with the cap? Shorted? Not showing correct capacitance? It looks to be connected in parallel with the main filter cap C100 (68uF 400VDC).
    2) R5 (0.47 Ohms) is blown so something may be shorted out causing the resistor to blow, it looks to be resistor for the Source pin of the 3-pin power device. You need to test that 3-pin power device (MOSFET?) mounted on the heatsink for shorts.
    3) R18 is also blown so you need to check that circuit section also.
    4) Why is the fuse removed? Was the fuse blown?
    5) Bridge rectifier D9 tested good?

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1591801314
At this points it looks like you have more than just blown NTC and blown resistors.

@ BUDM, Well spottted, sorry I got my wires crossed,

Find attached correct pictures Top and Bottom for FX0-Power JY331C7 8501B

Yes, some caps are bad i.e.
    C5 - 630v, 0.047u,
    C100- 400v, 68u
    also this RES:
    Resistor R18
    Resistor R5
Thermistor (TH) 10D9 - not sure if this is NTC/PTC

    Many Thanks

That is not the pictures of the bottom side of the board where C5 in question.

The board in question has two rectangular cutout on two corners: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...9&d=1591744711

And again, what is wrong with the board?
