Re: Cornell Dubilier
O-L-D cap manufacturer. My B&W Philco TV from the 50's had them in it. LOL
Used them for replacements in sets waaaaay back when.
IIRC, a recent perusal of their selections didn't yield anything of interest for PSU's or mobos. Nothing near Panasonic, Nichicon, UCC, etc.
Now, if you need a 56,000uF@10v, 35x40mm cap with a .013 ohm ESR, they have it.

Re: Cornell Dubilier
I used their Mica lines of caps when I was selling upgrades for the Ramsey FM10 transmitters.
The tuned tank circuit a variable inductor and a capacitor (which set the oscillator frequency i.e. the station) the factory was actually using a ceramic cap. 10% tolerance so sometimes the unit wouldn't even tune in the range specificed because the value was so off.
The transmitters also drifted off frequency with swings in temperature.
The Micas had a 1% tolerance and were very temperature stable.
I've seen their caps in alot of old tube equipment whenever I can I use their micas when doing tube recaps.
Never looked at their lytic line myself. They are probably like Mallory or Sprague just general purpose stuff. I usually need to use Mallory and Sprague caps in tube radios when I need weird values at high voltages. Like 15 uf at 120 volts.

Was that their silver-mica line? I seem to remember using them for some TV (mechanical) tuner repairs... WOW! I am dating myself here... LOL
All 3 manufacturers also made/make the 2, 3, and 4 section electrolytics. CDE always seemed to be the least expensive.

by momakaAnyone have any opinion or experience with EPCOS (TDK) and Cornell Dubilier Electronics (CDE) electrolytic capacitors?
I was able to find only three posts that seemed more relevant:

https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...80&postcount=3
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=cornell
So going by these, looks like CDE is okay, but EPCOS not so much?
Basically I am looking for some larger can caps for an audio circuit:...-

Hi. Name is Marc from South Florida. I am new here. I test and sell vacuum tubes, but one of boxes of bought tubes had these cornell dublier type1 caps with six colored dots on it. Would like to know if someone can identify it. Will wait until I have privileges to post a pic of it.

by jojo88This 50 inch LG LED (LCD) TV was given to me not working. Powering it on, the logo flashes once for 1/4 second then black. Front panel red LED blinks 3x (I think... see below) then the LED turns off. TV stays on until I press the Power button again. There is an image on the LCD panel--I press the "Settings" button on the TV and this brings up menus I can see with a flashlight / torch.
(The front panel red error code LED blink sequence is a bit confusing to me. The LED is on when the TV is off. I press the Power button and the LED *very briefly* goes off--maybe 1/10 second--then... -
by jayjr1105Bought a cheap sub on marketplace for $20. Has two 4700uf 25v Jun Fu 85c rated caps. I've found several replacements for around $1 or 2 but what ripple current rating should I shoot for minimum? Also they have to be 16mm wide and a max of 30mm tall, lead spacing is 7.5mm and they are through hole.
I am about to buy these just because they're cheap and 105c rated

Edit: add some bad 22uf 25v Jun Fu's to the list as well-
