Re: Question about SMD Crystal and proper capacitor placement / pin connections

    He uploaded this:

I can't figure out the traces... there's 3 traces popping out of that 10uF ceramic capacitor footprint. Like I said... best to have one single trace come out and then branch out traces from that trace.
...and makes no sense to have notation there 0.33uF ... also if you have one regulator powered from another, then the decoupling capacitor (0.1uF ) for that second regulator can be omitted, because you already have an output capacitor on the output of the first regulator.

      Hello friends,

Its been a while, i wish you an happy new year 2025 !

I have this laptop doesn't start, power light up a second when pluging USB-C charger.
      Laptop take 0.11A.
All signals and voltages before SLP_S4# are OK but no SLP_S4# , S3...

I get no oscilation on XTAL 32.768 KHZ
Battery is not charging but charging led is here.
PCH heat at 30° approximatively. (with no heatsink)

I think this crystal might be dead, i have only boardview giving me this: XTAL 32.768KHZ 12.5PF/20PPM.
      It's a 2 pins Crystal.

Zotac GTX 1050 Ti Mini ZT-P10510A-10L Replacement Crystal
      by OakleyDAR
      HI,

I'm looking to replace the 27MHz crystal on this board as it isn't generating the signal. I thought it would be easy to identify a suitable replacement as there are clear markings on the crystal, but it appears I was wrong as Google gives nothing. Bad photo attached, but it has X27.0000 and 16AP1 on the casing. It appears to be a 3225 package, but looking through suppliers there are lots of different things like capacitance, tolerance, active or passive, etc. that need to be considered. Could anyone help identify a suitable replacement please?

      Thanks....

Question on microprocessor crystal oscillator circuit
      by Keshenatech1
I'm troubleshooting a reel controller board for an IGT slot machine. The digital section seems to be dead. There is no USB communication, PC or utility program for flashing firmware do not see it but they do see good/working boards. I noticed the waveform on the crystal is very erratic/asymmetrical/glitchy on the bad one compared to the nice even waveform on a good board. My question is would this most likely be caused by a bad crystal or something gone bad in the circuit loading it down? I'm attaching a couple pictures of my scope probing the good and bad boads.

      Need help identifying crystal
      by jons
Got VW Bosch ECU with rotted away crystal oscillator and can't find frequency for it, it drives Bosch 30302 chip for which there is also no any datasheet. Markings on it says
      453NDK9X.
and there is nothing on internets about it that I can find....

ThinkPad X1C6 winbond 25q80dvsig chip dump request
      by TamFishe
Hi, I got a ThinkPad x1 carbon 6th gen from a friend after in an attempt to fix it he ended up bricking the motherboard. today i tried plugging the laptop to the wall and i got no signs of life, despite the connections being proper. i've found out this winbond 25q80dvsig chip under a label near the usb c ports and i gave it a read, and the output has massive chunks of 0000 0000 0000 0000 followed by FFFF FFFF FFFF FFFF and sometimes some proper values scattered across the whole chip. I've attached the file because I've read people request it in order to fix it. Moderators, if I've posted this...
