    Recap also the polymer caps?

Quick question on the Polymer Capacitors. I have a dead board with defective/cheap capacitors, all Jackson. I am going to replace the Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors(vented), but should I replace the Polymer ones(non vented) too?

The Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are not flat at the top which is why Im replacing them. The polymer ones looks normal. Should I be worried with these (being a Jackson brand and all) or can I just leave them alone?

what board are you talking about? can you provide a pic of the polymer caps to avoid confusion. what values are at the top of these polymer caps.

The board is ABIT SA6R. Heres a pic of what Im talking about, sorry only camera I have is a camera phone. These are the smaller caps. The one just to the left (not circled in red) is the bad cap that Im going to replace (Jackson 1500uf 6.3v). Just wondering if I needed to replace the smaller caps circled in red (Jackson 100uf 10v)

i dont think they are polymer caps, just low value normal electrolytics. if they are only 100uf, should be fine if you leave them. If they dont have vents then they are using a different kind of electrolyte. it is rare to see them fail but sometimes they do. I did a few abit boards like that leaving them, still stable as hell.

Make sure you replace all the jackcon 1000uf and above, they are total crap. they can bust out their bungs at the bottom of the cap and leak electrolyte all over the board. if you have leaked electrolyte you can clean it from the board and smt components using alcohol and a cotton swab. You do that when you have removed capacitors in the area and before you install the new ones.

i hope you have success, it looks like a nice board.
