    Help with DE-5000 results

I am trying to use the DE-5000 to test some caps. I am new to this and would appreciate some input.

    Junzl 100uF 400V

    In Cs Mode:

    100hz Cap 88.17 ESR .9
    120hz Cap 87.95 ESR .8
    1khz Cap 85.6 ESR .57
    10khz Cap 77.1 ESR .52
    100khz Nothing "OL"

    Rs
    100hz .90
    120hz .83
    1khz .57
    10khz .51
    100khz.49

What results should I be looking at and why?
The datasheet seems to spec 100khz?

ESR meters like the Atlas ESR70 or the Blue appear to simply auto adjust frequency and simply display values. What are they doing?

    Thank you.

ESR70, blue and a few other are fixed frequency afaik.

The cheap meters don't do a proper test, but it's a close enough approximation to give a decent result over a wide range.
A high end meter like yours has the ability as you found to test at the frequency listed in the datasheet.
It's simply a more reliable method vs "winging it"

Given this data sheet. What is the appropriate test frequency for 1. Capacitance, 2. ESR

        https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...0df5a37c01.pdf

Rule of thumb appears to be 120Hz for over 10uF and 1kHz for under 10uF. ?
        Thanks

The rule of thumb is that General Purpose caps are 120Hz.
And low impedance (ESR) caps are rated for 100Khz.
But it should always be listed in the datasheet.

            Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
            by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

Each GPU reballing produces different MATS results, looking for root cause ?
            by DynaxSC
            Hi,

I have an Nvidia card which makes me wondering, what is the root cause for Mats errors. The story is as follows:

            1. When I received the card Mats showed one memory with errors.

            2. Replaced the memory chip, but no change, still same error, so memory chip is ruled out.

            3. Made a carefull reballing of the GPU, MATS showed 3 memories with errors, the one before, and 2 other new chips.

            4. Made a second reballing of the GPU and Mats shows again only one memory chip with errors, the same on as in the beginning.

            5. Made...

MPPT 60AMP Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V 36V 48V DC Battery Regulator Testing results on 12 volts
            by sam_sam_sam
I bought one recently but this is the first weekend that I did not have work Saturday morning or the sun did not want to cooperate with me but today it is coordinating with me and I run a very simple test on a 12 volt battery pack and it stop charging ar 14.4 volts

Here is the website link where I bought it from

            https://www.ebay.com/itm/395434828814

I ran this test with a new 12 volt solar panel that has a no load voltage of 19.0 and an output current of 9.1 amps

I do not remember the starting voltage but the charging amps was 1.4 amps

Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB (Chassis SR) TV Repair Help - Distorted Subwoofer Sound and overall weird sound waveforms
            by LEECH666
            Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...

            Frequency measurement
            by TheDragon
I have a old JBL car amplifier that has electronic HP/LP crossover with pots.
Now, the pots don't have any increment markings, just 32-320Hz variable.
I would like to set these at around 100Hz in HP, as close as possible, so the front component speakers don't play that frequency.

I don't have a Oscilloscope but apparently my Uni-T multimeter can read frequencies. So, I sent 100Hz test tones via phone app, measured the output on the amp and it reads 100Hz. I sent 1Khz and 10Khz and it measured correctly, all in Flat position. Great I thought.

            I then switched...
