Another custom C(r)apXon in FSP unit!!

So when I finally got the Rubycons ZLQ 1200/16 and 2200/6.3 in D8 stocked, I thought I at least have something better than CrapXon for a while with the 1200/16, as they make custom 2200/6.3 for some time now, but been still only seeing 1000/16 in D8.

Umm, guess not! FSP has just another custom KF crap, this time 1500/16 in D8x25 mm! This won't ever stop, will it?

You're right, I've seen those too in some newer units.

Lol. Talk about a cat and mouse game.

This is why I much rather work on HiPro PSUs instead. Units like this one are just so much easier to recap. The 5V rail already has spots for 12.5 mm caps. But even the other cap spots that are only 10 mm diameter... most of these will easily accommodate 12.5 mm caps. Also, the 5VSB rail 2nd cap is 8 mm dia. but will take 10 mm cap fine too. HiPro / Chicony left so much space on the secondary side that I literally put whatever cap I have the most in stock at the time that fits the specs of the originals.

Just don't replace them with Su'scon.
Useful conversions. I don't "speak" imperial. Please use metric, if you want to address me.
          1km=1000m=100000cm, 1inch=2.54cm, 1mile=1609.344meters, 1ft=30.48cm 1gal(US)=3.785liters, 1lb=453grams, 1oz=28.34grams

Well, fortunately I don't have any Su'scon caps in stock (not new anyways... and the old ones I have are for testing stuff only if they're still in spec.)

Anyways, at least Su'scon's got a video. CapXon don't have even that.

                Hello everyone!
I hope this is the right section for this request. I'm looking for help to modify the boot logo on my ThinkPad T14 Gen 1.
                System Information:
                • Model: Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1

Replace the default "LENOVO" boot logo with a custom image during POST.

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
                by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

APC SMART SUA 2200 XL 640-0800G REV 7 cannot detect any load placed
                by jamespeterh
                Hi, all

I've posted a similar Q&A on alternative site but this site seems to be more focused in saving UPS.

                The system is a SUA 2200XL Rev 7 230V 640-0800G Rev 7

I have UPS that has a strange fault, it does not show or indicate any load on the system, via display or internally coms, LED test front panel works all light up.
has anyone else seen a fault like this , operates but no load recorded, or just blown one of the important non replacable IC's

                1. internal monitoring via cable direct into the CPU that no load is present even...

Unit runs but no speaker output kenwood KR-6030
                by DrDos
I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!
                by momaka
I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

                https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3591772

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:
