    Silkscreen cap values vs installed

I have a Tesslor R601 radio I took apart to see what it was made of and noticed that the main caps were 220uf 400v but the pcb had 100uf 400v printed on it. Also there were 2x 22uf 250v caps but the printing said 10uf 50v on one and 10uf 250v (IIRC) on the other. Given that some boards get revised and updated to new specs, is this fairly common? Just seems odd to me , being a noob. Thanks id advance.

May be normal also if they for example made more powerfull model later on the same PCB, so they just upgraded components.

OK, yes they do (or did) make an upgrade model. Thanks. I replaced all the power supply caps and put Rubycon/Panasonic items. Much less noise on the AM band, now.

substitutions driven by the economics of stocking fewer parts is quite common.
        i do this a lot.
the subs are overkill but cheaper and more convenient.

Recapping Sony ICF-SW55 - verifying cap values
          by proxneo
          Dear reader

I am performing a repair on a Sony ICF-SW55, which includes recapping (some) of the SMD capacitors on the mainboard. I am looking for verification of their values. At the moment, I'm 95% sure I've got the right values, but it is hard to find some official, credible or multiple independant sources on this.

At the moment, I have selected replacements based on the following list of values:

          3 x 470uF 10VDC
          3 x 4.7uF 35VDC
          4 x 47uF 50VDC
          8 x 22uF 6.3 VDC
          1 x 220uF 6.3VDC
          5 x 100uF 6.3VDC

          Which...

          samwha capacitors 10uf 200v/250v
          by Perry Babin
The attached capacitors are used in the output filters of class D amplifiers and hold up well but when they fail, replacements are difficult to find. I've tried the various options on eBay and crossover caps and none survived. Mouser, Digi-key... don't stock many bi-polar electrolytic caps. The only thing that I found survived (never a failure) was the Mouser E2106 (part number 667-ECQ-E2106JF) and the same from Digi-key. They look different but survive. Does anyone know a readily available drop-in replacement electrolytic? The dimensions are approximately 16mm x 25mm....

Different (lower) resistor values on PCB?
          by Kobok
          Dear Alls,
For sure it id a stupid question, but help me to understand. I am in a Dell 2007WFP revitalizing project - searching reason why not starting. Some resistors needed to replaced is is obvious. When I have soldered some resistors the measured (with multimeter) values were sometimes rather different written on them. I supposed these are wrong units so I desoldered and made a checking measurement and voilá the values is the same is written on. This happens only in case of a few resistors, most have the same values (+/- 10%) are written on it. "strange" SMD resistors =>103...

Samsung CRT TV letters or text is shadowing
          by JohnNovak
          Hi.
I have some problem with old CRT TV Samsung model: CW-29Z338T, 29" size TV.
The problem is that letters and other text are not clear, text or letters are shadowed on the right side.

I found 2 capacitors on CRT Picture Tube Board.

47uF/400V was leaking very bad, the second cap 10uF/250V was bad ESR reading so i replace this cap also.

Replacement these 2 capacitors did not help nothing.

I try to reduce brightness, contrast and sharpness. There is very small effect on this shadow.

To reduce G2 down have more effect...

          Allen&Heath XONE92 DJ mixer repair
          by JohnsonJ
          Hello everyone.

I'm having issues with my DJ mixer, and after taking it apart and checking everything out, it seems that I need to replace 2 rotary potentiometers for the filter, and that the PSU has some caps burned. Hopefully these 2 fixes will solve my issues.

The potentiometers I will just replace (hopefully the repairman I spoke with will indeed send me the spares, in case he doesn't, I'll update here if we can find a suitable replacement), but for the PSU caps I'd kindly ask you forum members, if anyone could help guide me in the right direction. I'm having difficulty...
