I have a Tesslor R601 radio I took apart to see what it was made of and noticed that the main caps were 220uf 400v but the pcb had 100uf 400v printed on it. Also there were 2x 22uf 250v caps but the printing said 10uf 50v on one and 10uf 250v (IIRC) on the other. Given that some boards get revised and updated to new specs, is this fairly common? Just seems odd to me , being a noob. Thanks id advance.

May be normal also if they for example made more powerfull model later on the same PCB, so they just upgraded components.Less jewellery, more gold into electrotech industry!

OK, yes they do (or did) make an upgrade model. Thanks. I replaced all the power supply caps and put Rubycon/Panasonic items. Much less noise on the AM band, now.Comment

substitutions driven by the economics of stocking fewer parts is quite common.
i do this a lot.
the subs are overkill but cheaper and more convenient.Comment
