Another this is we have no specs for the cap that you just put in there or what it's ESR is. The one you're replacing has an ESR rating for 13mOhms, that's an extremely low ESR. I can almost guarantee that china cap doesn't have a low ESR like that. You also replaced a polymer cap with an electrolytic. While this doesn't matter, the polymers are much more durable than electrolytics. Plus this is a cheap cap. I would've advised you spent an extra dollar or two on a good branded polymer cap, rather than a random one which might not last long.

The other problem is if you put a cap that's got too high of an ESR in the place of where one that can't have that high of an ESR, you could potentially cause more problems down the road than just the cap failing.

My advice is to replace that cap with a proper one, your choice.
Fairly true , and i've already advised him the Panasonic ones , but he went for a lower cost , free shipping and faster delivery .. Well , we have also to include into the equation , that today , no Laptops under the 600$ barrier survive two or three years at maximum , due to poor designs and cheap components , not to mention the always defaults in South bridge or North bridge , or exploding chargers and defaulted batteries , etc.
what's i'm sure of , this cap will survive longer ...

You can get an electrolytic down to polymer levels of low ESR, I've seen it before with Panasonic and Sanyo electrolytic capacitors, the SMD versions and regular can type.

But that isn't going to be the case with an unbranded one from eBay...

It's true that in the old days you could be pretty sure of size vs capacity, but with these super caps I feel its no longer totally obvious.

True, but they mark them with Farad not mF, probably for that reason.

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
              by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
              Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

what capacitor should I purchase for LCD display PCB?
              by chth96
I want to fix Video door phone which works its doorbell but it is not able to display any screen.
So I disassembled its plastic case and I detached FPC film cable from LCD display in order to inspect LCD display's PCB
I measured ESR resistance of all smd capacitor on this PCB and I noticed that there is some SMD capacitor which has high ESR value(48ohm 50V 0.47uf,15 and 28 ohm 50v 3.3uf,10 and 8 ohm 35v 10uf)
I desoldered this 5 suspicious SMD capacitor like below screenshot.

But I cannot identify specification of desoldered...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
              by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...
