Re: Need to replace a MSI Laptop capacitor! (Help)
It's true that in the old days you could be pretty sure of size vs capacity, but with these super caps I feel its no longer totally obvious.

Re: Replace 8Mb bios chip with 32Mb possible ?
Interesting, I've never looked into serial memory addressing, 2764/27512 Eproms was the shit when I was young.
But looking into the pdf's
Pin 7 !HOLD is not in use on the 32Mbit chip
But is it needed I don't know, motherboard schematics? properly not..
The serial addressing looks to be compatible and will only use the first 8Mbit as you suggest.

Re: 10.000uF/50V Jamicon Real/Fake/or just bad?
Thanks for the reply.
I was talking to a college yesterday and he was saying something along those lines.
That the cans was properly a standard size made to fit maybe both the 50V and 63V versions in the same can.
They where bought for a +/-40V DC power supply for a DIY effect amplifier.Re: 10.000uF/50V Jamicon Real/Fake/or just bad?

10.000uF/50V Jamicon Real/Fake/or just bad?
I'm new to the world of counterfeit components, but when I got a pack of 10.000uF-50V that was rolling weird on the table
like the weight was unbalanced I had to open one of those to see what was inside.

At first glance I find it strange that there is so much empty space, I can't recall ever having seen a cap's inside like this, but it's 30 years since so...
I found out that my multimeter can measure capacitors, its a Tenma...

Re: Samsung LE40D503F7 (double image)
Hi
Is it the same error on all inputs, have you tried HDMI/DVI from other sources ?

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Wikipedia says that "A capacitor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that stores electrical energy in an electric field."
I must admit that when I was a 12 year old that was not on my mind,
but how big a bang it could make, when it was heated over a candle light in the playground shelter.
These days I'm more worried about getting fake/bad caps than getting the right electrical component or the size of the bang :-)
