Re: bad links lead to virus
I have been using this site for quite awhile and never had a problem. The people who do the software for this site are very good at what they do. If you have a problem with a link you should let them know what link. When you go to a link that means you have left this site and they do not have control over that site the only thing is they can remove the link on this site.Last edited by keeney123; 11-11-2016, 06:31 AM. -

wcax.com is unsafe to visit right now, due to a code injection. You can expect to get scam scareware there! That one telling you to call and it bleeps.ASRock B550 PG Velocita

Re: bad links lead to virus
I've been on badcaps.net for close to 8 years now. Most links that people post are safe. But like keeney123 said, these are external sites, so badcaps.net has no control over the content that is posted there. The links could be fine today and infected tomorrow. So you should exercise caution not just on badcaps.net, but anywhere on the internet really.
Like Diff said, make sure your OS and software is patched up properly. Better yet, use a HOSTS file (if using a Windows OS). That will cut down on probably 90% of the bad stuff that can infect your computer, if not more. AdBlock Plus may also help you avoid clicking on click-bait advertisements.
Lastly, don't rely on anti-virus software only (in fact, don't rely on it at all). Common sense is by far the best method to keep your PC clean. Always verify that the links posted match the links shown in your status bar of your browser. And avoid external image hosts if possible (like imageshack and photobucket) - they've been known to have malicious ads from time to time. There was just a thread here not too long ago that had that and Topcat (the site admin) had to remove them.Comment

yupp, if u find a post with a malicious link or content, the proper way on a forum to do it is to use the report post button on the lower left corner of the post to report the offending post to a mod/admin.Comment

by mon2Hi. We have an office client who has been contacted by the local internet provider that one of the office Windows PCs is infected with a virus. The report has been confirmed. Apparently through a remote outside trigger, this virus is performing brute force attacks around the world from this local IP address at varying times. Aside from low level formatting each PC, what is the recommended approach for this case? Running F-prot (suggested by the internet supplier) has come up empty. We are planning to run hijack this. At this time, we do not know which PC is creating this issue. Internet provider...

by Eh546Don't hesitate to tell me what i do wrong and if you have any tips and tricks, because i want to learn and improve.
I have a 60w iron that can go up to 450c, cone tip, i usually set it at 400. I applied flux on solder, tinning the tip then applying new lead solder to the joint so that it can mix with the lead free and lower the melting point, then i tried to suck up the melted solder with the solder sucker. But that didn't work since the lead solder doesn't seems to mix with the lead free one. I also tried applying flux to a wick and the board, then tinning the tip of the iron and... -

by Stanley1843Hello,
has anyone use these Brands of solder balls? The brand BEST writes on the label of the jar the specs of the solder balls instead of the Mechanic brand. I beleive that BEST brand must be more professional (in labeling at least) but I have never try one of them so I would like your opinion. By the way I hardly can I find the Mechanic brand in aliexpress (the only where I found was lead free solder balls) and on ebay these that I found are approximately15USD per jar. If you know any other trusted brand of solder balls please tell me.06-22-2024, 11:06 AM -

I got this device yesterday and did some testing on some tabbing and some incandescent light bulbs and it seems to work very well from what I can tell but how do I know how accurate the m-ohms section is what can I use to verify it accurately I also tested some li-ion battery cells and this seems to be fairly accurate because I have another tester and they seem to agree with each other
I also checked some capacitors with it that were brand new and seem to show about what I expected to see with my blue capacitor tester so I think it... - Loading...
