    Replacement capacitor for compressor

Im looking for cap for my dehumidifier, its compressor start cap failed - original is polypropylene film 15uf 300V 5% described as "start" on shematic. I ordered one from China, but looks like package was lost after I waited over month so I want buy one available locally and dont wait forever again. It is easier to find round/oval oil filled ones, will they work as replacement? Something like this http://www.supco.com/web/supco_live/.../CR15X440.html
Mounting/bigger size not a problem, there lot of empty space where original was located.

That'll work. The oil filed is higher voltage, both are continuous duty, both have a similar operating temp range, both are protected, both engineered for compressor use!

Thank you! I will get one ASAP and hopefully will have working dehumidifier soon - original reads 2.5uf, but I tried few smaller fan capacitors tied in parallel to bring total to ~15uf for testing, turned it on for few minutes and looks like it worked OK.

So if this cap just for the start of the fan motor or is it for both the fan and compressor? Usually a start cap for compressor is of higher uF. The only other thing that might be of concern would be the 10,000 Available Fault Current on the original.

^ its not marked as a multicap, that would be something along the lines of 15/4uf

No, this one is for compressor, fan motor has its own cap - see picture of schematic in first post. It supposed to be 15uf, but tester reads 2.5uf right now, compressor tries to start and shots down right away.

So I looked at the schematic and I see a start cap listed near the motor coils and a start cap listed near the fan motor. I was asking if this is the same cap that has two different connectors on one side and one connector on the other side as that is what the picture of the cap is showing in your picture?

Where can I get compatible capacitor for replacement?
                by artvandalai
Blew the capacitor on my analytical balance scale using the wrong power adapter. I need help finding a replacement compatible capacitor to buy. Will any 100uf 40v capacitor work as a replacement?

I have a new 15uF/400V and a new 22uF/400V capacitor. When measured, the new 15uF reads only 13uF, and the 22uF reads only 20uF. Can I use the 22uF capacitor?"

klipsch kda-500 amplifier suitable power supply capacitor replacement ?
                by r2digital
I have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...

                Discontinued Capacitor looking for Replacement
                by rwkish
Capacitor has been discontinued (EGXF101ELL331MM20S) all of the replacements I have found have are smaller than 0.709" Dia (18.00mm). I would like to use the same size or at least close to the same size Capacitor. 19mm would be too big as they would touch and not be able to through hole mount. Tia...

                Replacement capacitor options please?
                by Hylax
Hi, I'm super new to this capacitor stuff but I've some basic soldering experience with old cellphones PCBs and headphones. I have this APAQ AR5K 820∆μF 3V Dc Capacitor from a motherboard that I'm looking to replace, photos I've attached. But I'm unable to find a 3V one like I've marked in the spec sheet in red (This is the one currently present in the motherboard). But the 6.3V one I can find (marked in blue) is of similar dimensions but different specs as mentioned in the table. Is it okay to replace it with higher voltage cap, slightly higher ESR, slightly lower ripple current, and double...
