    Ryobi IntelliPort Battery charger

Broke this one open to find Asia X caps, which are apparently Fuhjyyu budget models. Replaced all (except the one Samxon). This was not done as a needed repair in as much as attempt at trolling certain Czech members of the board.
    Have a nice weekend.

Well, I don't blame you for recapping it . After all it is a Lithium battery charger - the last thing you want is for the power supply to do something weird, kill the charging IC, and overcharge the battery (thus producing a possible fire hazard). Speaking of a charging IC, I don't see one on your PCB. Is it on the bottom (SMD package)? I certainly hope this isn't a "dumb" charger.

the 2 large output rectifier diodes will fail at some point and blow the fet.

            yes.

            they are mbr5200 5a diodes.
replace the pair with a single mbr40250 on a custom heatsink.

Why go so overkill with the reverse blocking voltage, though? This being flyback topology, I imagine you can get away even with a 45V rectifiers. So something like MBR2045 through MBR2060, MBR3045 through MBR3060, and MBR4045 through MBR4060 should all work too. Plus, those are much more common and probably cheaper too. If you really want to be on the safe side, go for STPS20S100C or similar.

availability - it's easy to get.
and an 18v charger is something i would not want a shotky in unless it was atleast 10x the running voltage.

How you can even tell what rectifier is there is beyond me, guess it will have to fail. If you can't fab a custom heatsink from a beer can, I am out of luck.

i can tell because i'v fixed about 15 of the lime coloured ones.
2 diodes in parallel is the same mistake as the vestel tv psu's!!

The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)

the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                      by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Milwaukee M18 HD12.0 (12 amp hour battery pack) unbalanced failure charger refusing
                      by sam_sam_sam
I have two Milwaukee 12 amp hours battery packs that have an issue with battery cells very unbalanced these are probably over 4 years old and been heavily used in the past but now get occasionally used heavily and when I went to use the grinder tool the battery lost battery battery power very quickly so I decided to open it up and found some battery cells voltage from 3.6 to 4.1 no wonder the battery charger was not fully charging them 3 out of 4 LEDs were on meaning that it was only 75% charged

So I have put them on the battery testing machine to drain each battery cell down to...
