I own an Asus A68HM-PLUS mobo and I can't figure out what brand of capacitors it uses, you can Google it but if you want I can shoot some close-up photos myself.
Was wondering what brand solid caps I have on my motherboard

At the moment all I can give you is a screenshot taken with my phone of a zoomed-in cap from a picture on the Internet, if it's not enough for you you'll have to wait till later today for some actual pictures taken by me of a cap.Comment

Erm...
I found a picture of my mobo on the Internet on my phone, zoomed in and took a screenshot (the cap looks exactly like the ones I have seen irl obviously) because at the moment I can't give you a photo of the ones which are actually in my PC.Comment

by eryjusHello,
First, I am a complete noob with high voltage stuff. I'm learning, but I need help by someone looking over my shoulder.
I recently came into posession of a Heathkit IO-4205 5MHz Dual Trace Oscilloscope. The documentation is copyright 1978. I'm told it works.
I opened it up to check the caps before I applied power, and found the following black caps and wanted to know what they were. They are on the power supply board. I was able to read the name and model and came up with, "Nytronics 162J-1, 0.1uF, 20% tolerance, 2000VDC."

by glovecapsHello,
I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.
My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.
The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this... -

Hi Gurus, I am wondering if someone might be able to help. I purchased recently this used computer that otherwise looks in mint condition. I worked for 1 week, until one morning I shut down the computer using the power off commands in windows. There was no warranty. This was purchased for my teenager for use at school.
When I went to start the computer up in the afternoon, all the keys lit, but the computer didn't POST. Then the next thing I tried (pressing the power button) resulted in only the... -
by Paxman_SwedeHello!
I have two projects on my work bench. One is a friends dead JBL Xtreme speaker with a blown voltage regulator and corresponding bulged and shorted cap. That cap has clear markings so I know what replacement I need for it.
The other project however is a whole different deal. It's a Zoom 9000 guitar effect from the 90th that has developed a devil hound howl when there is no input from the guitar. I'm guessing caps problem. So, since I don't really use this effect anymore I thought it would be a perfect project to learn on.
I have studied the board and...-

by TMTGTRThe Symptom:
I own a Dell Dimension 8300 motherboard that will post and get to the black (XP pro 32bit) “We're Sorry Windows did not load” Screen.
When restarting any option i.e. “Normal” “Safe Mode” etc. Computer re-boots to same screen. I checked RAM with memtest –OK Checked O/S Drive with Victoria -OK
Upon Inspection:
I did a physical examination and see that the 6 caps by the CPU are all bulging in various degrees. (See Pics Below).
I found a YouTube vid with a guy who replaced these 6 caps and the computer works fine.... - Loading...
