Mallory is a very old company.
I remember having one of the first televisions made by Andrea that had a front end consistting of a Mallory induct tuner.
It didn't have a clunk between channels but more of a vernier turn.
I felt guilty putting a Sprague three way filter into the power supply.

        Mallory=Jamicon?
        by Maxxarcade
Just found a 47uf 250v cap at work that has both the Mallory and Jamicon brand printed on it. I thought Mallory was an American cap back in the day? Did they get bought out? The cap is an SK series, 85c cap.

Another funny thing, I also found an NTE branded cap with a bulging top, still new in the drawer. It has the "+" type vent that I've seen on other bad caps... Who makes the caps for NTE?

These are a couple reason's I'm sticking to Chemicon, Panasonic, and Rubycon from now on

Kitchen Aid Superba KUDS series, installed 2001, similar/identical to Whirlpool -- live, but no Start and no response to button-press.

The reset sequence of pressing two buttons multiple times did not work, either. Cycled power, no go.
Power off, remove six screws (torx 7 heads) examine circuit board: Saw two 63V/100uf caps, two more 10V caps, all appeared normal. Mutiple color-coded wires to board,
got all disconnected, dismounted board from housing. ESR test showed that 63V caps had failed.

"Magna" 300W ATX PSU (bad workmanship inside)
        by Rulycat
Here is a Magna 300W ATX PSU, with plenty of bloated JEE and other caps:

Primaries are HEC 330uf 200V (will change these when I get some other caps)

Now I said on the other thread about the electronic clock kit I was waiting on some caps off my dad. Well here they are in action! and before I get roasted for bad repair work or it's dangerous etc, this is just a "Will it work?" project, using what I now have, which is Jamicon 85C caps, Fake Nichicons and Fake Panasonic FR caps!

At least the values are a lot larger.

        The 470uf...

        Dell 2408WFP PSU inductors
        by lamberth
        Hello all,
My first post here. I'm just a hobbyist with a basic understanding of electronics.

Been reading a lot about this Dell 2408WFP monitor in various posts on this site and they've been useful.
I have the same issue with this display that others have experienced in that the display does not turn on after it has been disconnected from power.
This happened again a few days ago and this time I could not get it back to life, even after repeatedly disconnecting / connecting the power.
So I opened it up to have a look, especially bad caps. Did not find...
