Back in the late 80's, in VCRs and camcorders.
The ones on these S-VHS boards always went bad, and often leaked/corroded the "module" they were soldered to.

OK i guess i should explain why i asked. I just bought used panasonic s-VHS NV-HS1000 VCR that is in cosmetically so-so condition, but virtually brand new inside. I can find no SMD electrolytic caps and so far i looked in power supply, preamp, mainboard and TBC board. i did not look inside the YC and sub boards (hidden and covered). that particular VCR was made in 1996 for UK market. on the other hand, the more recent popular panasonic's AG-1980 (USA market) is full of defective SMD caps. both of them are K-mechanism.Last edited by jack black; 08-26-2015, 04:10 PM.Comment

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Dear reader
I am performing a repair on a Sony ICF-SW55, which includes recapping (some) of the SMD capacitors on the mainboard. I am looking for verification of their values. At the moment, I'm 95% sure I've got the right values, but it is hard to find some official, credible or multiple independant sources on this.
At the moment, I have selected replacements based on the following list of values:
3 x 470uF 10VDC
3 x 4.7uF 35VDC
4 x 47uF 50VDC
8 x 22uF 6.3 VDC
1 x 220uF 6.3VDC
5 x 100uF 6.3VDC

I've just been repairing some (very) old speakers with a loud hum that occurred as soon as you powered them on regardless if any actual audio is played through them. I work in a School so it's 99% likey that the Teachers have hardly ever turned the power off on them for well over 10+ years.
As you can see the top large capacitor on the right has a bulge on the top so defincately needs replacing. As the one next to it is exactly the same capacity and voltage I planned to replace them both.
What is your advice/opinion on whether or not on old(er)... -
I picked up a Panasonic NH-P70G2, though it would apply to the NH-P80G2, NH-P70G1 and NH-P80G1 models as well, as maybe some other models. This one was coming up with a H86 error. After lots of testing and googling it was an error with one of the thermistors in the condenser area.
The attached French service manuals is incorrect, TH11 is gray and is a 95k thermistor and TH12 is black and is a 35k thermistor.
In my case TH12 was bad. I was able to get a 35k thermistor on AliExpress. It's 6mm in diameter.
Unfortunately the whole machine has to come apart to fix it.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.
