    Mouser not selling Rubycon?

Been doing a bit of shopping around lately and happened to notice that mouser no longer sells Rubycon capacitors at all. Does anyone happen to know the reasoning behind this?

I know Newark/Farnell/Element14 (all same site now apparently) sell them but still a curiosity nonetheless.

maybe they couldnt get the price breaks they wanted.

it's no secret that panasonic are much cheaper than rubycon, and these places need to add a markup without looking like bandits.

That's quite possible. I contacted them as well directly just to find out and they were very vague.

      Hello,

There are many reasons that we may stop carrying a particular manufacturer and we don’t currently carry Rubycon. Unfortunately we don’t have current information if we will start to carry Rubycon capacitors.

      Thank you for your inquiry,

Related question: do you know of anyone else who no longer sells Chemi-Con?
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

Bah - of course everyone sells UCC! :P

I would use UCC more if they offered the package sizes I needed at this point. Ended up noticing the Rubycon thing with mouser when I was hunting for a greater than 470uf capacitor in a 16v package size equal-to or lower than 8mm x 13mm. Rubycon were the only ones with 2 offers matching that size with 560uf/105c and 680uf/85c caps in 8mmx11.5mm respectively.

Jaycar... Wait, all they have ever sold is no-name S.I. crap since forever and charged $1 per cap even on the small ones.

              Picking caps for Antec SU-380
              by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
              https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...

Xbox 360 Xenon Modern Capacitor Replacements
              by burom
I found my old Xbox 360 in storage and opened it up to see if there was anything that broke since it was built in 2006 (launch era Xenon revision, never red ringed, never been serviced) and didn't want to find out by releasing magic smoke. Upon moving the dust bunnies out of the way I was greeted by a bunch of capacitors with crud coming out of the top; it doesn't seem to have leaked onto the board so at least I have that going for me.

I'm posting here because I want to try to source replacement caps myself from Mouser or Digikey instead of braving eBay or waiting for places to have...

Finding comparable ferrite beads on mouser/digikey?
              by mrkmpn
I have an inspiron with "power rail failure" LED codes flashing, and have found a blown capacitor and ferrite bead (inductor, I guess...)

I've found the replacement capacitor on mouser, but am unsure how to properly search for the ferrite bead. I have the schematics and boardview, so I have found the original bead part#, but the data sheet doesn't seem to include the information I need for the filters on mouser and digikey.

For inductance, and a few other values it just says "Refer to standard electrical characteristics list"

              Here's...

Infamous Rubycon MFZ... Current recommended replacements???
              by bjs59
What we have here today is an Intel DG33FB motherboard, circa 2007... I need to replace some of the caps on this board... From what I have found, one of these caps was sort of well known here back in the day as they were used in XBoxes and XBox 360s as well....They are the Rubycon MFZ series, in particular the 6.3 v 3300uf 10mm X 20mm... I have found a seller on Amazon, The Capacitor Store, that has them listed but I have a hard time believing these are genuine pieces... The original recommendation was to replace any bad ones with Nichicon HZ series since the Rubycon MFZ's were a custom product,...

              Genelec 8020C Bad capacitor
              by TomGJ
Hi All, So I have two Genelec 8020Cs that are about 10 years old, one of them stopped switching on. I took it apart, fuse was blown, and I've traced the short to one of the two large capacitors on the circuit board.

Now from looking at the Capacitors, they seem to be from Samwha's SD Series with the following specs: 3300uf, 35v, 85C, 25 x 16 mm Radial.

The problem is, I can't find any capacitor from Samwha's SD Datasheet that matches these specs. The closest is 3300uf, 35v, 85c but 31.5 x 16mm, with a max ripple current of 2.5A. I'm guessing the 25mm is custom made for...
