Where else can I get cap kits?

After finding badcaps a while back, I repaired a doaner and was pleased with learning a new skill, however minor. However, my 22" recently crapped out on me so I researched vendors.

Corporate Computer as he calls himself, at www.ccl-la.com apparently has a kit for my model but they're either out of business or refuse to answer emails, the only form of contact listed.

Can anyone recommend a good site or two that sells caps and fuses and such for my lcd power board? I'm really at a loss. It's a long trip to the only place in town that sells caps and they don't have what I need.

    Thanks,

    Mac

Try eBay... There's a vendor there that sells kits, and he seems to carry kits for pretty obscure models as well. http://stores.ebay.com/simoncapacitor

Can't vouch for the quality of the caps he sends... Personally, I wouldn't bother with kits. I'd take the thing apart myself and make my own kit.

It's worth learning how to do it without a kit since you can't always get kits anyway

          What sells off dead tv?
          by RooTV
I just cracked the screen on a tv so figured I would part it out, but then started wondering what exactly will people buy off a tv?

I know there is the usual:
          main board
          power supply
          speakers
          TCon board
          Legs

But does anyone buy anything else?
What about shrouds (plastic or metal)
          cables? screws?

What is worth listing on ebay and what isnt?

          Would this be safe?
          by SluggerB
I am trying to fix a broken plasma TV by replacing a large cap on the power board. It is a 1900uf 220v cap and I could only find one place that sells them. It was listed as through hole, so I bought it. It showed up today, but instead of through hole, it has spade connectors.

Would it be safe to get some heavy duty wire (like lamp cord wire), connect that to spade connectors, connect them to the spades on the cap, and run the other ends of the wire 2-3 inches to the holes and then through the holes and solder them in place? I actually did it already and put it together but...

          Mosfet Advice
          by Green Probe
Hi, Im looking to replace some EMP21N03 mosfets on an Alienware motherboard, but I'm having trouble finding a legit supplier. The ones that are available from China have pictures with the engraved logo looking very scratchy and sketchy. Nobody in the US sells them. I'm trying to find a compatible mosfet, but I'm not well versed enough to be confident im making the right choice. Does anyone have a suggestion or advice that could help me find the right mosfet? Thanks!

          Samsung Power Supply Board BN44-00874F
          by Nicktronic
          Hey everyone,

This power supply board is hard to find but there are repair kits available. This board had a blown fuse, FP801S, blown PFC MOSFET, QP802CS and ceramic cap, CP809. I replaced them with parts I already had and tested the rest of the parts that would've come in the repair kit and they were fine. I powered the board up on the bench expecting, in typical Samsung power supply board fashion, to see all my output voltages but, nothing. 0 volts on CNL801, CNM801 and CNT801. The only thing I have is 170vdc on the filter caps. No standby voltage either.

          Anybody...
