    Jackcon LOW ESR

    This is what they call LOW ESR. It's from Abit KT7A - some of them were bulged but this one has no signs and worst ESR of all.

    It's those caps that fail in no visible manner that are the nasty, sneaky bad caps - those that may make someone suspect a non-repairable problem and throw away the board for dead...

      we are blind without that ESR meter....

            Agreed... they really are the nastiest of all, it's sad to think of otherwise perfect boards becoming landfill somewhere

              thats what i use the scope for.
              easy to spot the ones that are open with no bulging/leaking.

                    I have spoken to the designer of the ESR meter because it is not capable of reading the ultra low ESR of say the Samxon GC series or better. I have suggested some instrument design changes but I do not think the product will change.
