    A little Tayeh question...

    As many members of these forums have greater experience with Tayeh capacitors than myself, I thought I'd pose this question...

    Is a visable dimple in the 'cross-hairs' of a capacitor a sure sign of venting? no fluid loss was noted (until I pierced it with a utility knife ) but the motherboard had been previously experiencing random but infrequent lockups/freezes...

    BTW the motherboard is an EPOX EP-MVP3C2

      Teyah is definitely a bad brand for failure. Post a pic, that'll tell the tale for sure.

          If the cap has bulged at all (even slight doming in the 'cross hairs', as you put it), the cap is usually bad already. Caps don't have to be spilling their guts out to cause problems on the system - I had a PSU with a very slightly bulged Fuhjyuu cap, and that caused constant reboots.

          You say there is a dimple in the 'cross hairs' - that's odd, as if the cap has collapsed in on itself rather than vented. Perhaps the cap has started to vent from the bottom, and the reduced pressure caused the top vent to start caving in?

          Tayeh are a notoriously bad brand, as bad as GSC. I have a PC with Tayeh caps, two of them are spilling electrolyte everywhere and yet the PC still works without problems! Like Topcat said, post a photo of the cap and then we'll see if it's vented.
          You know there's something wrong when you open your PC and it has vented Rubycons...

              Well, if it were bulging/leaking that'd make the diagnoses too easy!

                  they look ok in the pic. time to break out the ESR meter or capacitance meter. Being they're teyah's, just replace them. they're crap.

                      Oh... okay, I've already pulled them all

                      That dimple effect @ the centre of the 'cross hairs' is not a feature I've seen on any capacitor before, I thought it looked a little suspicious

                          Hey Everyone,

                          Long time lurker, but I think this is my first time posting.

                          Just looking for some assistance on identifying some suitable replacement capacitors for an MSI K7T266 Pro (Ver. 1.0). I just got my hands on two of them actually, both working but one has some visibly bulging capacitors and the other has a few that I can't tell for sure if they're bulging because it's faint at best if they are.

                          I'll be honest I don't fully understand much on capacitor spec sheets beyond voltage and capacitance but I can solder like nobodies business so I've...

                          Hey guys - Recapping an Epox BX3 motherboard with about 38 TAYEH capacitors. I have them all extracted and their values recorded. I'm looking to order (digikey) and am a bit blind on ESR/ripple for these old caps.

                          I haven't found any data for the bit of Googling I have done of these guys. Figured some of you have most likely replaced Tayeh caps at some point. Open to suggestions for manufacturer/series since I don't have an original ESR/ripple to go on.

When I opened it, I saw that all the transistors and diodes had been removed from the tnpa5330, and several microcircuits were in poor condition, so I decided not to try to repair it.                           MacBook Pro A2141 - is it possible to take preventive measures?

                          Hi all,

                          i recently got a Macbook Pro A2141 with a load of dust and hairs inside. After cleaning everything and checking the logicboard it looks fine and only needs a new battery and i will replace the thermal paste.
                          Since this model can have serious moisture problems is there anything i can do as a protection? Cover sensible parts with a layer etc.?
                          I was not sure if this thread is correct here but i don't have any acutal repair on this machine.

                          Hello,

                          I got my hands on a 2e hand 360 s6 vacuuming robot i wish to repair.

                          Unfortunately, a common (and mine) problem is that the radar, used for navigation is not working.
                          a second unfortunate thing is these problems seem to have many different causes, from dirty lens, to stuck hairs so it can't move, to broken down radar module to a faulty PWM (mosfet?).

                          the issue I am dealing with is what I believe to be a faulty PWM.
                          I have come to this conclusion as this seems to be an issue that others have dealt with also, but I have not found anyone...
