    Gx270

I have a GX270 *sigh* and the inevitable happend to me a couple months ago, caps blew on me. I can't ask dell for help because I bought the computer off my dad when his buisness went under and I use it as a home pc... but they said since I bought it off sombody I have to ask them to replace the stuff. I didn't replace the caps at first because I don't know anything of recapping and stuff like that, and I didn't want to send it in to a repair servace... I want to know if you can tell me what cap set to buy, and give me a quick guide how to unsolder the bad ones and put in the good ones, I would greatley appreciate it, for I need the computer functional again, thanks in advance.

    Re: Gx270

can you please read this and then come back with specific questions.

    The Recapping FAQ

you will replace all nichicon HN or HM series capacitors on the board. you can read the values off the caps, they will have capacitance in uf and voltage in v written on them. you will replace with the lowest esr caps you can find that are the same uf an v rating. send pm to Topcat to get a price for caps. or otherwise check the following link.

Where to buy capacitors and what capacitors to get

you will have a row of caps next to the cpu, you will need 8mm width caps to replace those otherwise it will look ugly if you use 10mm replacements.
