Recapping a AOpen AK73 Pro(A). There are two 10v 3300uf caps on the board, but I only have 6.3v 3300uf caps. I measure 5v at the cap... that should be safe to replace with 6.3v, right? The voltage shouldn't fluctuate that much...
replace 10v with 6.3v?

Re: replace 10v with 6.3v?
Good to go. I've decreased voltages on occasion after measuring and testing. For example: The 3900uF 10v caps on a Shuttle FV24 or FV25. They never have any more than VCORE voltage on them, so its perfectly safe to replace those 10v caps with 6.3v caps. However, never do this unless you're absolutely sure. It will always be safe to increase from 6.3v to 10v though.<--- Badcaps.net Founder

by Oldschool297I found these, i would only like to try them on a board to see if it post. It don't post at the moment, i guess there are 9 6.3v 3300uf that can be broken. Is these low or high esr? I did not find info on the web.

by chth96When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.
Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...-

I've just been repairing some (very) old speakers with a loud hum that occurred as soon as you powered them on regardless if any actual audio is played through them. I work in a School so it's 99% likey that the Teachers have hardly ever turned the power off on them for well over 10+ years.
As you can see the top large capacitor on the right has a bulge on the top so defincately needs replacing. As the one next to it is exactly the same capacity and voltage I planned to replace them both.
What is your advice/opinion on whether or not on old(er)...-

by chth96I have purchased an 100-240v AC/5v 2a DC adaptor from aliexpress, and a month ago It smelled burning when I plugin it powerstrip.
Since then, This AC/DC adaptor have been out of order.
But A few days ago,I replace 0.5 watt resistor with 1 watt resistor(1ohm) in this adapter.
After replacing resistor,It succeed to recharge all of android phone. And When I measure voltage on the two pins of USB port,It shows 5.5v
Is it okay to replace 1/2 watt resistor with 1 watt resistor in AC/DC adapter?
And Is there any possibility that it will suddenly explode as well as to be out... -
by psyduckI have a Samsung U32D970 monitor from 2015 I pulled out of the bad hardware pile that turned on and then turned itself back off after a few minutes of use and refused to turn back on. The PSU has part number BN44-00786A, and I found a couple posts about one that had blown with damage to the MOSFETs and PWM controller - but nothing about intermittent failures. I started a new thread and said that I would refresh the solder joints on the board to see if it was just a bad connection and possibly replace the PWM and PFC ICs. I then asked what my next course of action would be after those steps. I...
